In an electrifying performance, Swedish talent Alex "poiii" Nyholm Sundgren has broken the Counter-Strike 2 regulation kill record.

Just a week after Danil "donk" Kryshkovets set the previous mark of 38 kills, poiii shattered it by securing 39 frags in a thrilling online match for EYEBALLERS in CCT Season 2 Europe Series 11. This outstanding performance came during a Round-of-16 playoff match against Zero Tenacity on Anubis.

A Record-Breaking Performance

The 17-year-old prodigy came close to blowing donk's record out of the water, displaying extraordinary firepower throughout the game. His dominance was especially evident on the CT side of Anubis, where he posted a staggering 23 kills, even as the rest of his team struggled, leading to a 5-7 deficit at halftime.

As the second half unfolded, poiii appeared on track for a historic performance, racking up 12 kills in the first six rounds to push himself to 35-9 at a 10-8 scoreline. Though Zero Tenacity mounted a comeback, poiii managed to break donk’s record in the 24th round, ending the game with an impressive 39-15.

Other Record Holders

While poiii now holds the CS2 kill record for online matches, Danil "donk" Kryshkovets remains the top performer on LAN with 38 kills. The Russian prodigy even holds two records in the Top 10. Here's a look at the top CS2 kill performances:

  1. Alex "poiii" Nyholm Sundgren: EYEBALLERS vs. Zero Tenacity – 39 kills (online)
  2. Danil "donk" Kryshkovets: Team Spirit vs. Wildcard – 38 kills (LAN)

A Glimpse of poiii’s Potential

Although poiii delivered the performance of a lifetime on Anubis, his team fell short in the overall series. Despite upsetting Zero Tenacity on their map pick, EYEBALLERS lost the series 1-2 and were eliminated from the tournament at 9th-16th place. However, poiii’s individual stats told a different story. Across the series, he finished with an eye-watering 61-43 KD and a 1.43 rating.

EYEBALLERS’ playing CEO and Swedish Counter-Strike Legends Jesper "JW" Wecksell had high praise for the young Swede when he signed the young rookie in July.

"Alex is Sweden's next superstar."

This record-breaking game was the pinnacle of poiii's career so far, offering fans a glimpse of the potential that JW had seen in him, and with JW’s backing, poiii’s rise to the top could be just beginning.
