All Overwatch 2 Heroes Released to Date
First released in 2016, Overwatch’s ensemble of heroes has grown to a ridiculous 42 unique heroes in the 10 years since then. For new and even old players, it can be a challenge keeping track of every release. 32 heroes were released across Overwatch's 7-year tenure, and a further 10 have been released in its sequel, Overwatch 2. In this guide, we’ll be taking a look at every hero in the Overwatch and Overwatch 2 roster, sharing their release date and designation in the game.

Overwatch Hero Role Distribution
There are currently 42 heroes on the Overwatch roster, split across 3 different roles: Tank, Damage, and Support. Here is a breakdown of the distribution:
- Tank: 13 Heroes
- Damage: 18 Heroes
- Support: 11 Heroes
