Argentinian organization KRU Esports has just announced their full starting Valorant roster for 2024. Along with their remaining three on their roster, Nicolás “mta” González and Fabian “Shyy” Patricio Usnayo have been announced to finalize the team.

Following their early exit at Champions 2023, Juan “NagZ” Pablo Lopez Miranda was placed on the inactive bench. He would later leave the organization entirely, swiftly followed by Carlos “axeddy” Alberto Machado a few days later. Moreover, the unfortunate passing of Santiago “Daveeys” Galvis Ruiz brought the roster count down to three players prior to the two pickups announced today.

Turbulent 2023 Season

KRU’s 2023 run was mired with underwhelming results and overall feeling over underachievement considering their assembled roster power. The LATAM crew had previously turned heads internationally with results at the 2022 VCT Masters: Copenhagen event and 2022 Champions. They placed 9th-10th in the former and 9th-12th in the latter. Moreover, heading into 2023, they underwent a full roster rebuild with a powerful mix of LATAM talent.

However, KRU ended up underperforming for most of 2023, only showing up towards the end. In the Last Chance Qualifier, it appeared as if they had finally found the form that had eluded them for most of the year, going on a Cinderella run as they defeated MIBR, Furia Esports, Leviatán (twice), and Cloud9.

Sadly, their good form ended prematurely at Champions 2023, when they faced off against first Paper Rex, and then Giants Gaming. Their fate sealed; KRU exited Champions 2023 without posting a single win. Now, it appears their organization will have a new lease on life with fresh faces once again.

“Shyy” is a Chilean player who last played for Leviatán before being announced as benched in favor of new pickup Ian “tex” Botsch. Meanwhile, “mta” previously played for Furious Gaming, and competed in the South Latin Americas Challenges League.

KRU Esports' roster will be as follows for the 2024 VCT season:

  • Nicolás "Klaus" Martin Ferrari
  • Marco "Melser" Eliot Machuca Amaro
  • Angelo "keznit" Mori
  • Nicolás "mta" González
  • Fabian "Shyy" Patricio Usnayo
