Aui_2000 parts ways with Tundra Esports
Tundra Esports bid farewell to their International 11 winning coach Kurtis "Aui_2000" Ling, as he becomes the last member of their former lineup to leave the organization. The team is currently down to just one player, as only Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen remains part of the roster.
Aui_2000's innovative drafts were a huge part of the team's success in the past, as he came up with outlandish ideas such as support Pugna and the aura build on Broodmother.
Aui_2000 claimed his second Aegis with Tundra Esports
Aui_2000 is a notable player in his own right, lifting the Aegis of the Immortal as a member of Evil Geniuses in 2015. He was a creative player, forcing his enemies to ban Techies in order to stop him split pushing the map. He still managed to create space by playing roaming Naga Siren and shutting down lanes by himself.
After TI5, Kurtis has mixed success as a player and decided to pursue a different path in Dota 2, guiding other players toward success. His impact with Tundra was immediate, as the team did well in the regional DPC and took third place in ESL One Stockholm Major 2022.
Of course, his most notable achievement was claiming the Aegis of the Immortal at TI11. To this day, Aui_2000 is the only person to win an International as both a player and a coach.
Besides breaking records with Tundra, the former coach enjoyed the other aspects of the team, such as getting to know the players and filming videos.
Aui_2000 said that his time with Tundra was a fantastic experience, "Overall these two years have been some of the best memories in my life and I am really grateful for that."
It'll be interesting to see what Tundra does now, as the organization currently has no Dota 2 team to compete in any tournament.
