Today, Pacific organizations Paper Rex and Global Esports made waves in the esports scene by announcing a mutual transfer of Valorant players. In this exchange, Paper Rex has facilitated the transfer of their former in-game leader, Benedict "Benkai" Tan, to Global Esports as part of the organization's strategic efforts to rebuild their roster for the 2024 season. Simultaneously, Cahya “Monyet” Nugraha will be joining Paper Rex's Valorant lineup for the upcoming year, effectively replacing Jing “Jinggg” Jie Wang. This surprising move signifies the end of a longstanding partnership between Benkai and Paper Rex, ushering in a new chapter in his career with Global Esports.

A Journey to Remember

Benkai's association with Paper Rex began in June 2020 when the team was still focused on Counter-Strike. Together with his teammates, including Khalish "d4v41" Rusyaidee and Alexandre "alecks" Sallé, Benkai helped the team achieve regional success. However, the turning point came in February 2021 when they made the transition to VALORANT.

Despite joining VALORANT later than most, PRX, led by Benkai, quickly established themselves as a regional powerhouse. Their impressive performances in international events, including a remarkable run to the grand finals of VALORANT Masters Copenhagen and a solid fourth-place finish at VALORANT Masters Reykjavík, showcased Benkai's leadership and gameplay prowess.

A Transition in Paper Rex

As the 2023 season progressed, Benkai made the transition to the inactive roster during the VCT Pacific League's regular season. This shift allowed rising star Ilya "something" Petrov to shine and eventually earn the MVP title. Paper Rex continued its success with a third-place finish at VCT Masters Tokyo and a remarkable second-place finish at Valorant Champions, with something playing a pivotal role.

A New Beginning with Global Esports

Global Esports, in securing Benkai's talents, has acquired an in-game leader with extensive international experience. Benkai's track record of leading Paper Rex to significant achievements makes him a valuable addition to the team.

It's important to note that while Paper Rex thrived in the 2023 season, Global Esports faced challenges with an eighth-place finish in the regular season. Despite this, Benkai's arrival promises to inject new energy and strategic depth into the team. His performance statistics, including a 1.08 rating, place him among the top players in the league, with only 150 rounds played, as per data from VLR.gg.

Looking Ahead

As the esports world eagerly anticipates the start of the Pacific League next year, all eyes will be on Global Esports and their newly acquired star player, Benkai. This exciting transfer marks a turning point in Benkai's illustrious career and opens the door to a promising future with Global Esports. Fans can't wait to see what this dynamic player will bring to the team and the exciting matches that lie ahead in the 2024 season.
