BLAST Bounty Season 1: Format, Fixtures and More
BLAST Bounty Season 1 introduces an exciting chapter in the BLAST CS2 circuit, replacing the familiar Spring, Fall, and World Finals. With the innovative Bounty, Rising, and Open tournaments. This opening event, running from January 14th to 26th, boasts a $500,000 prize pool and promises a unique mix of rivalries, and high-stakes matches.
How does the bounty system work?
BLAST Bounty 2025 introduces an intriguing twist to competitive Counter-Strike with its bounty-based prize system. The tournament will feature 32 teams, comprising the top 28 teams from the Valve Global Rankings and four wildcard entries handpicked by BLAST.
Wildcard Teams and their bounties
The wildcard teams bring an added layer of excitement to the event. A bounty will be placed on them, and defeating these teams will allow the victors to claim 50% of their bounty, with the remaining 50% rolling over into the next match. This mechanic ensures that every game carries high stakes, even for underdog teams.
Bounties Based on Seeding
Each team enters the tournament with a bounty determined by their seeding. The higher a team is ranked, the larger the bounty placed upon their heads. This system incentivizes both lower-seeded teams to go for big upsets and top teams to defend their ranking with everything they’ve got.
