Fall Finals Secured!: Blast Premier Fall Groups Group Stage Recap
Starting from the 13th of July, Counter Strike fans bore witness to the Blast Premier Fall Groups 2023. 12 teams walked in for a chance to qualify to the Blast Premier Fall Finals. But only 3 have managed to secure that spot as of yet.
Group A:
Ninjas in Pyjamas managed to secure the first spot of the Blast Premier Fall Finals, as the Swedish side showed off their new and improved roster. Their first game was against Complexity, where the North American side managed to get the best of the Swedish outfit. Even though they were beaten by Complexity in the first round, NIP made an incredible Lower Bracket run.
Battling against Evil Geniuses, NIP had to give it their all to take the series 2-0 against the North American side. Following that, they got a rematch against Complexity. But this time, it was NIP who prevailed. They managed to win it out on Nuke, after pushing the game all the way to 42 rounds, before closing it out at 22-20.
Their final opponents of the group were Vitality, who hadn’t dropped a single map till this point. However, it all came falling down for Apex and his French prodigy ZywOo. The French roster could not manage to keep their clean streak. And NIP managed to sweep the floor with them at 2-0, winning out the series, and qualifying for Blast Premier Fall Finals.
Vitality have managed to qualify to Round 2 of the Play-In stage of Blast Premier Fall Groups 2023.
Group B:
Top spot of Group B was taken by Heroic, after they had a stellar Upper Bracket run. The Danish side only dropped a single map, as they cruised their way into Blast Premier Fall Finals.
Their first game was against BIG, who they swept the floor against. The German side was no match for the no.1 rated team in the world.
Their second match was against a newly built Natus Vincere, with Aleksib at the helm. Fans were excited to see what this new change-up might bring to the GOAT and his team. But they were let down severely. NaVi barely managed to survive, as Heroic had complete control over the game. And managed to win out the series 2-0.
NaVi faced BIG in the lower Bracket Finals. The German squad had managed to beat Astralis in the Lower Bracket Semi Finals. However, they were unable to beat the Ukrainian outfit. NaVi beat BIG 2-0 in their matchup, and went on to face Heroic once again in the Group B Grand Final. NaVi had a better game than last time, but it was a similar result. They did, however, manage to take a map off the Danes, denying them the perfect run. Heroic still managed to beat NaVi 2-1, and secured their spot at the Fall Finals.
Meanwhile, Natus Vincere have qualified to Round 2 of the Play-in Stage of the Fall Groups.
Group C:
The third spot to the Fall Finals was Secured by Faze Clan. They made the comeback from the Lower Bracket. In Round 1, they went head-to-head against OG. It was a battle of the International Rosters, but Faze managed to come out on top. They won the series 2-0.
They were next pitted against Team Liquid. Liquid had managed to win their first round match against G2, showing off their new international roster. Faze managed to put up a good fight. But this new Liquid roster proved too much for them as well. Liquid took the win at 2-1 in the series.
In the Lower Bracket Finals, Faze went head-to-head against G2. Although on paper it would have seen that it was a very even matchup, in reality, it was anything but. Faze managed to cruise by against G2, as they won the series 2-0. Setting them for a rematch against Team Liquid.
This time, Faze were prepared. Karrigan managed to show off his adaptability as an IGL, and led his team to victory in the revenge matchup. Faze Clan managed to win the series 2-0, and secured their spot in the Fall Finals.
Team Liquid will have one more chance to grab their spot in the Fall Finals, as they have qualified to Round 2 of the Play-In Stage.
The Play-In Stage:
The Play-in stage starts in a few hours, with Astralis set to take on Complexity in the opening match.
