Blast Paris Major Americas RMR Day 1 Recap

The Blast.tv Paris Major American RMR kicked off on 6th April. 16 teams will face off against each other in a Swiss Format bracket to qualify for the Paris Major. The 16 Teams taking part in the tournament are:

  6. paiN Gaming
  7. Fluxo
  8. MIBR
  9. Flamengo Esports
  10. Yur
  11. Paqueta Gaming
  12. Evil Geniuses
  13. Team Solid
  14. Nouns Esports
  15. 00 Nation
  16. LOS + oNe

Round 1 of the American RMR took place on 6th April, and all the matches were BO1.

Game 1: Furia vs LOS + oNe

Furia were the better team in this matchup, as they won the map 16-6. They managed to take 11 rounds in their T-side. And left no breathing room for LOS + oNe. KSCERATO topped the table with 19 kills, and a massive 1.64 rating.

Game 2: Liquid vs 00 Nation

It was easy pickings for Liquid as they dismantled former Major winner Coldzera and his team. Liquid ended the first half 11-4. On their CT-side, they started off with a 5 round win streak and won the map 16-4. NAF sat comfortably at the top of the table with 20 kills and a monstrous 1.82 rating.

Game 3: Bestia vs Nouns Esports

Bestia and Nouns traded rounds with each other, keeping each other on their toes. Both teams had very solid T-sides. But the game was decided by the CT-side, as Bestia were the better team. They won the game 16-13. But it was Bwills at the top of the table with 26 kills, and a 1.29 rating.

Game 4: Complexity vs Solid

Solid put up a good fight against Complexity. But the NA squad came out on top, on the back of a stellar CT-side. They won the map 16-10. Hallzerk topped the table 26 kills, 16 of those from the AWP, and a 1.43 rating.

Game 5: Imperial vs EG

Fallen’s Last Dance Imperial put up a good fight against EG. But it was  the North American squad who came out on top. On the back of a stellar T-side, EG took the first half 10-5. They won the map 16-12. However, it was boltz leading the table with 23 kills and a 1.38 rating.

Game 6: paiN vs Paqueta

paiN gaming absolutely demolished their Brazilian brethren in a 16-2 scoreline. Paqueta only managed to win 2 rounds on their T-side. Apart from those, they were completely overwhelmed by paiN Gaming. NEKIZ led the table with 22 kills, and a massive 2.02 rating.

Game 7: Fluxo vs yur

Both Fluxo and yur were quite evenly matched. Both teams had good T-sides. But Fluxo won the map 16-13 on the back of a 6 round win streak on their T-side. It was history at the top of the table, with 28 kills, and a 1.50 rating.

Game 8: MIBR vs Flamengo

Final game of the day was the only game to make it into overtime. Flamengo managed to get to Map Point first at 15-11, but MIBR managed to pull it back into overtime. Both teams traded rounds with each other in OT, but Flamengo finally came out on top, as they won the map 22-20. However, it was HEN1 at the top of the table with 31 kills, and a 1.26 rating.
