BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2023 Playoffs Preview
The BLAST Premier: Fall Final group stage concluded yesterday with two teams getting eliminated from the competition. Starting today, the remaining six teams will take on each other in a single-elimination format for the BLAST Premier: Fall Final title, a World Finals qualification, and a $200,000 USD prize.
BLAST Premier: Fall Final Group stage Recap
The Fall Final featured two groups of four teams each. From each group, only a single team was eliminated.
Group A recap
The first group of the tournament featured Faze Clan, Cloud9, Natus Vincere, and Ninjas in Pyjamas.
In the opening game Faze Clan took on Ninjas in Pyajamas. In the game, Faze limited NiP to single digits to win the game 2-0. The other opening game featured Cloud9 taking on Natus Vincere. In a three-game series, Electronic, Perfecto and Boombl4 took down their former teammates 2-1.
The lower bracket game saw NA’VI taking down NiP 2-0 to secure playoffs as the third seed. The first seed decider featured the opening game winners, in the game Faze Clan took down Cloud9 in the third map to secure first seed.
Group B recap
Group B featured Team Vitality, Complexity, Heroic and Astralis.
Team Vitality took on Heroic in the opening game. The struggling Heroic lost 0-2 to Vitality to drop down the lower bracket. The second opening game saw Complexity taking down Astralis to secure the playoffs spot.
In the lower bracket elimination game, Heroic with subs and a last minute addition in CadiaN took down Astralis to secure playoffs. The first seed decider had Team Vitality defeating Complexity to secure the semifinals spot.
BLAST Premier: Fall Final Playoffs Preview:
The playoffs will feature Faze Clan and Team Vitality directly seeded into the semifinals. The winner of the Cloud9-Heroic quarterfinals will take on Team Vitality in the semifinals. Similarly, the Complexity-Natus Vincere game will decide Faze Clan’s competitor.
With Faze Clan already in the semifinals, this will be their chance to win another trophy and close the year on a strong note. Apart from Faze Clan every other roster will be looking to win their first CS2 trophy.
The tournament will also be Complexity and Cloud9’s chance to qualify for the BLAST Premier: World Final 2023.
The playoffs start in a few years and we’d get the winner in two days.
