Kelden "Boostio" Pupello has managed to make a daring escape from the contractual clutches of Evil Geniuses to join 100 Thieves for the upcoming VCT 2024 season. The announcement, made through an imaginative video, symbolically portrays Boostio breaking free from an EG jail. Thus alluding to the reported contract disputes with Evil Geniuses.

Following the departure of Brandon "Stellar" McGrath at the end of the 2023 VCT season, 100 Thieves had been on the hunt for a new in-game leader (IGL). The anticipation surrounding Boostio's potential inclusion peaked with a teasing tweet from the organization on December 21.

Now, the speculation has turned into reality as Boostio completes the 100 Thieves VALORANT roster for VCT 2024.

The Reinforced Lineup:

Champion IGL Faces Contract Woes

Over his two-year tenure with EG, Boostio showcased exceptional leadership skills. Managing to secure a Top 3 finish in the inaugural Americas League season. Other notable achievements also include a second-place finish at Masters Tokyo. But the crowning glory was a first-place finish at Champions LA.

Despite primarily playing the Sentinel role, Boostio demonstrated versatility across various positions, particularly excelling in clutch situations.

Boostio, along with the rest of the Championship winning squad, found themselves in a tough spot as Evil Geniuses encountered financial difficulties, leading to a downsizing of their esports operations.

A report by Richard Lewis surfaced that the team was presented with an ultimatum: accept significant pay cuts or seek opportunities elsewhere. This situation prompted the departure of several players, including Demon1 and Ethan, who have already joined NRG for the upcoming season.

Can Boostio Recapture the Glory Days?

The financial troubles at Evil Geniuses have marked the end of an era for the championship-winning roster, with players scattering to find new homes. Boostio's move to 100 Thieves signals a new chapter in his career.

As 100 Thieves welcome Boostio into their fold, fans are hopeful that the seasoned IGL can usher in a new era of success reminiscent of the organization's glory days. With his proven track record and adaptability, the former Champions winner appears well-equipped to lead 100 Thieves to new heights in the competitive VALORANT scene.

As the VCT 2024 season looms, all eyes are on 100 Thieves and their revamped roster. Will Boostio's leadership guide them to triumph, or will they face challenges in adapting to the changes? The journey begins, and the VALORANT community eagerly awaits the unfolding narrative of 100 Thieves in the upcoming season.
