New League of Legends Game Mode Brawl: Everything you need to know
Among a large wave of changes coming with Season 2: Spirit Blossom, Riot Games is also introducing a brand new game mode to League of Legends: Brawl.
If you're a fan of the game but don't have the time to load up to Summoner's Rift, or are simply looking for a simpler, more straightforward game mode to play with fans, then Brawl is just what you've been waiting for.
Join us as we go through everything there is to know about the new game mode, including all of the game's mechanics and objectives, as well as when you can expect it to arrive to League of Legends.

Brawl: How does it work?
Intended to be an action-packed game mode, Brawl aims to let players have fun with friends regardless of varying levels of expertise. Here's you need to know about how the new game mode will work:
How to play
Brawl is a 5v5 game mode in which, unlike ARAM, you get to select your own champion. The goal of the game is simple:
- Each team starts with 250 health
- The first team to reach 0 health loses the match
- Takedowns on champions deal 5 damage each
- Takedowns on enemy minions deal 1 damage each, so long as the enemy team is not on low health
- Getting your minions across the opposing Bandle portal will deal 1 damage per minion to the enemy health
- Secure enemy champion and minion kills, push waves, and win
Also keep in mind the following:
- To heal or buy items, simply recall or walk back to your team's base
- Two camps lie on each side of the lane, which will grant powerful buffs on takedown
- There is no Nexus, and no Towers

The goal of Brawl
Riot Games came up with the idea for Brawl when thinking of ways to bring the popular "Deathmatch" mode from FPS games to League of Legends.
In the words of Riot themselves, the goal when creating the new game mode was fairly straightforward: "make a simple, action-focused League mode that brings veterans straight to the fun and invites new players to experience League combat and try out different champions."
Play with friends of any level: Anti-snowball mechanic
In an effort to make Brawl a fun game mode for players of any level, snowballing to victory won't be quite so easy in the new game mode. Brawl is introducing an anti-snowball mechanic to the game which will grant a 'comeback buff' to your team when you find yourself heavily on the losing side.
This comeback buff will grant you and your teammates increased damage dealt, and decreased damage taken, allowing you to fight on more even ground despite being behind in gold.
Game time and pace
In Brawl, gold is earned at an accelerated pace in comparison to Summoner's Rift, meaning you can expect your champions to scale faster than ever.
Given that there are no major objectives or towers to be taken down, Brawl is expected to be a more fast-paced variant of other game modes such as the aforementioned ARAM. Matches of Brawl are expected to last about 10 minutes each.
When does Brawl release?
The new game mode will hit League of Legends with the release of patch 25.10, which will go live on Wednesday, May 14th. So, if you're eager to jump straight into the action, make sure you load up to try Brawl exactly two weeks after the Ionian-themed Season 2 of League of Legends hits the servers.
