While streaming, a moobot message revealed that Brain did not receive an invite to The International 2023. A viewer shared a screenshot, leading to heated debate within the community. Eventually, BSJ intervened to clear the tension.

A History & Explanation

After the incident, Brain shared his decision on X (formerly Twitter). As a high MMR player and former carry of Arkosh Gaming, the Dota 2 community has always valued BSJ's in-game analysis.

The on-stream message screenshot is a result of the BSJ’s voluntary actions to step back from the talents after his experience as The International 10 analyst.

After The International 2021, Brain voiced his discontent about working as a talent. He claimed that TI 10 was an unpleasant experience for him, as the workdays were long, with no activities for the talent during breaks.

"I mean overall TI this year was pretty bad, behind the scenes and stuff. The work days were incredibly long, Got up at like 7 am to do make-up, got back to the hotel at midnight. Nothing to do during the day because of COVID. So the whole event sucked."

BSJ stated that despite his refusal to work at The International 2022, he was not invited to the tournament the following year.

The beloved analyst expected not to receive an invite for The International 2023. However, as he was active in the 2023 DPC Season, he hoped he could get one. However, Valve did not give him an invitation.

Brian has been a member of The International talent team since International 2018. He has contributed his skills to TI8, TI9, and TI10.

What Now For Brian?

BSJ clarified that he did not intend to cause any drama or controversy. The popular streamer requested that his fans refrain from directing any blame toward Valve or the talents working at the upcoming International.

The analyst also expressed his appreciation for the supportive comments he received from the fans. The community will miss his analysis in the scene as The International will start on October 12th.
