After his return debut on OG at The Riyadh Masters 2023, to no one’s surprise, the two-time back-to-back Ti champion, Sébastien "Ceb" Debs, has officially come out from his retirement. It was an expected return just in time for The International 2023 qualifiers. After his retirement, he played as a standin for OG quite a few times. He even won a Major for OG as a stand-in, which led to the formation of Old G with his former teammates at OG. The team welcomed their former coach and iconic offlaner, Ceb, back with a post on Twitter.

OG’s recent results

Since their offlaner, Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf, departed from the team, OG has been desperately trying to find a good fit for the team’s synergy. They have switched multiple players to find the best solution but had no luck. The team had been posting mixed results throughout the season. They had only been to a single Major this year. At The Berlin Major, they placed a 5th-6th place finish. Their runs at DreamLeague Season 19 and Season 20 were promising for ESL One Pro League. However, they failed to keep their momentum at The Riyadh Masters, only securing a 13th-14th place finish.

Most Iconic Player & Team Combo

He first joined the team as a coach in 2016. With him, the team reached soaring heights. The team won multiple Valve Majors in the following years. However, he stepped into the game as a player after OG fell apart in 2018 to rebuild the team from the ground up. Surprisingly, OG emerged victorious as The International 2018 Champions the same year.

The following year, the team won The International again, silencing the doubters while becoming the only team to win the back-to-back International Dota 2 Championships. Being through both the dark and glory days, Ceb has been through it all with OG. He is not just a player for them; he is part of the OG family.

With Ceb’s return to the team, fans are keen to witness his performance as a soft support for OG. His hard support skills earned them a Major trophy, and his offlane skills made OG a legendary team; it will be interesting to see what his soft support skills can yield. However, Ceb’s return to the team also means that it is the end of Old G. The Western Europe International 2023 Qualifiers will begin on 27 August, and there are several notorious teams that OG needs to beat for them to secure a seat at The International 2023.
