How to get Free Squid Game skins in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

As reported by Strafe Esports yesterday, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is commencing with their latest collaboration effort, with Netflix hit-series Squid Game. The event, set to begin on the 3rd of January, will include a robust Event Pass with 10 tiers of rewards, doubled with the unlocking of a separate premium track. Moreover, the collaboration event also sees the release of new game modes, some entirely new and inspired from Squid Game, and others as a mash between the two IPs.

Call of Duty Not Missing: Squid Game is the Hottest Media Content Currently

The hit South Korean series recently recorded a record 68 million views in its premier week, as reported by Netflix, shattering the previous record of 50.1 million. Centered around a live game show premise with deadly consequences for the losers, 456 participants compete in a series of games to earn a fortune’s worth in cash prize.

The survivor thriller rose to Netflix’s most-watched show and even won multiple awards including a Golden Globe and 6 Primetime Emmy Awards. Season 2 premiered on the 26th of December 2024 and the final season has already been announced to air in 2025.

Black Ops 6 x Squid Game Collaboration Event Start Date

Activision and Treyarch have confirmed the event will come to Black Ops 6 on the 3rd of January. The Mid-Season update (Season 1 Reloaded) is set to come just days after, on the 5th of December.

It has not been confirmed how long the collaboration event will run for. 

Black Ops 6 x Squid Game Event Pass: All Rewards and Price

It has been reported officially that the Game Event Pass has 2 tracks, with the premium track set at 1100 COD points. There is also a free track for all players to enjoy.

As can be seen above, the free track and the premium track offer different rewards for players. The free track includes 2 operator skins: the ‘Player 006’ skin as well as the ‘Player 115’ skin. Other rewards such as a new loading screen, emblem, sticker, calling card, and the new Cleaver Melee Weapon can be earned from this track.

However, for those interested in opening their wallets, the premium track offers additional unlockable access to 4 weapon blueprints: the ‘High Authority’ Xm4 Assault Rifle, the Knife, the GS45 pistol, and the Saug SMG. The highlight of the Premium track is undoubtedly the operator skin: ‘Front Man’, which occupies the final unlockable slot on the premium track. Additionally, a concussion grenade equipment skin, finishing move, the ‘throwdown’ emote, and the ‘Who’s Left’ Talking Gun Screen are among the extra rewards the premium track offers.

Take on the mantle of guard with one of the 3 new operator skins: 'Masked Manager', 'Masked Soldier' and 'Masked Worker'. All 3 operator skins are included in this pack, along with 2 new weapon blueprints: the 'Game Guard' SMG and the 'Rule Master' Assault Rifle.

The pack also includes the 'Winner' Finishing Move, 'Enforcer' Emblem, 'Bank' Reticle, 'Where It Stops' Weapon Charm, and 'Play Time' Calling Card.

VIPs Tracer Pack

Feeling like part of high society? The VIPs Tracer Pack includes two VIP-themed Operator skins: the 'Panther Mask VIP' and the 'Lion Mask VIP'. Moreover, the pack also includes a number of weapons, no-expenses spared of course.

This includes the 'Choicest' Launcher, the 'Lacquered' Sniper Rifle', and the weapon blueprint for the 'Satin Slayer' SMG. The 'Death Plated' Frag Grenade Equipment Skin is also included.

Finally, the pack also includes the 'Pinky Up' Finishing Move, the 'Gilded' Emblem', the 'List Required' Calling Card and the 'Very Important Player' Loading Screen.

Young-hee Tracer Pack

If those aren't grim enough options to sate your bloodlust, the Young-hee pack will also be made available. Dead contestants will remember her singing moments before her death. Yup, you can purchase her operator skin in this pack, accompanied by the 'Don't Move' Assault Rifle as well as the 'The Curator' Marksman Rifle weapon blueprint.

Finally the 'Hit Pause Finishing Move, the 'She Watches' Emblem, the 'Lethal Look' Large Decal, the 'Stay Still' Spray, and the 'Under Her Gaze' Calling Card, as well as the 'Uncorked' Emote all serve to embellish your gluttonous rampage to your hearts content.

Black Ops 6 x Squid Game Limited Time Game Modes

There will be a total of 5 limited-time modes coming to Black Ops 6, Warzone, and Zombies.

Red Light, Green Light

Lifted straight out of the screen into… well another screen, Red Light, Green Light is a game where players are challenged to travel from one side of a field to the other without dying. There’s a deadly robot made to look like a little girl singing an eerie song. If it catches you moving, you get shot. And die. Pretty simple rules.

There will also be multiple rounds in this mode and players can use weapons and melee attacks to take out other competitors.

Pentathlon

A playlist of multiplayer modes featuring Domination, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, Piggy Bank Team Deathmatch, and Roulette. Piggy Bank TDM, every elimination adds score to a Piggy Bank hung in the air, players fight for possession of all the score inside when it drops during the match.

Roulette features the Roulette Handgun, a weapon capable of earning players double points with every one-shot elimination. However, every shot also runs the risk of the weapon blowing up in your hands. Care to roll the dice?

Squid Game Moshpit

Another playlist of multiplayer modes, this time featuring Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint. Honestly explaining this is hard enough, it’s a mess. There’s Red Light, Green Light in the mix, Mega Piggy Bank with the additional ability of eliminated operators to drop a Piggy Bank that awards a small score boost when picked up. And there’s a Roulette Handgun with a permanent UAV. Using the handguns in this game mode spawns a permanent UAV with the capability of one-shotting any enemy for double score, but your location is always marked on the map and every shot has a percentage chance of blowing you up.

Dead Light, Green Light (Zombies)

Available on Liberty Falls and Citadelle des Morts. When ‘Green Light’ is called, operators earn more essence. ‘Red Light’ drains essence from any operator moving. ‘Dead Light’ spawns a more challenging wave of enemies.

On the map Urzikstan, there will be a series of rotating challenges. Underperforming squads (in the challenges) can be eliminated at the end of a round and random rounds of Red Light, Green Light will also play.

A Community Outraged

Despite the massive amount of content coming, fans are not happy with what they view as price gouging from the side of Activision. Black Ops 6 also costs $70 for the base game, however, has many features and costs that align itself with live-feature games such as seasonal battle passes, $20-30 in-game bundles, a separate multiplayer battle pass (Blackcell), and now additional paywalls for this latest event.

This all on top of the inadequate anti-cheat and unsatisfying gameplay has led many in the community to rightfully feel outraged, calling for Activision to make, what they view, are necessary changes for the game’s longevity.
