MIBR Bolsters Roster with Former FURIA Duo
MIBR has recently announced the signing of André "drop" Abreu and Rafael "saffee" Costa from FURIA, marking a significant addition to their roster. The move comes as Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia and Henrique "HEN1" Teles have been moved to the bench to make room for the incoming duo.
Head coach Bruno "BIT" Fukuda Lima expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating, "Being able to bring drop and saffee on board was an opportunity we couldn't afford to miss. We believe they will address several needs of the team, both in-game and outside of it."
saffee Joins MIBR from FURIA After Challenging 2023 Season
saffee, the AWPer, joins MIBR from FURIA following a challenging 2023 season for his former team. FURIA struggled to live up to expectations, experiencing a disappointing exit at the BLAST.tv Paris Major Legends Stage, finishing in last place. During the tournament, their T side proved particularly troublesome, and they failed to reach double-digit scores on any map, highlighting their overall lackluster performance.
Throughout 2023, saffee maintained a rating of 1.03, positioning him as an average performer within his team. With FURIA reportedly securing the signing of Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, saffee's departure became imminent, and he made the switch to MIBR, where he will inherit the AWP role from HEN1.
drop Struggled in FURIA, Leading to Transition to MIBR
Meanwhile, drop faced a challenging year with FURIA. He struggled to find consistency and ended up with the lowest average rating on the team at 0.89. Initially joining the team as a promising FURIA Academy graduate in August 2021. Despite that, drop failed to consistently deliver the performances required to secure his place in the roster. Ultimately making way as FURIA embarked on a rebuilding phase.
