The fourth day of VALORANT Champions 2024 Playoffs featured Sentinels taking on EDward Gaming followed by Leviatan facing Team Heretics for a spot at INSPIRE Arena.

The day started with a Chinese team once again exceeding the community expectations, followed by Aspas and friends annihilating the European superteam.

Sentinels 1-2 EDward Gaming

Sentinels and EDward Gaming both started the tournament strong. They made it out of the group exceeding expectations.

Both teams swept their opening opponents, to secure upper semifinals. Sentinels with their better form were the favorites coming into the series.

The series started in favor of Sentinels, with them winning Haven with a 13-9 scoreline. EDG clapped back with Lotus, winning 13-9.

The momentum of the second map helped EDG dominate Sunset and despite SEN’s resurgence in the second half, EDward Gaming won the map 13-6, winning the series 2-1.

With the win, EDG secured a ticket to the INSPIRE Arena and a top 3 finish at VALORANT Champions 2024.

Talking about their top three finish, the team said:

“This is a historic moment for our region, something that has never been done before. It feels like a breakthrough, and we are incredibly proud to have reached the top three. It's an amazing accomplishment for us.”

After the upset over Sentinels, EDward Gaming will face Leviatan in the upper bracket finals with Grand Finals qualification on the line.

Leviatan 2-0 Team Heretics

The two frontrunners of VALORANT Champions 2024, Leviatan and Team Heretics met each other earlier today.

Completely dominating the group of death, Team Heretics came in really confident in the series, after taking down Gen.G and Fnatic.

Leviatan did fumble losing their first seed to Trace Esports but took down Team Vitality and domestic rivals G2 Esports, coming in the series with a set goal.

As expected from two strong teams, Icebox went the distance, going double OT before Leviatan closed it out 15-13.

Team Heretics secured an early lead on Lotus, but an attack led by Aspas helped Leviatan secure seven rounds in a row, helping them close the map 13-10 and the series 2-0.

Leviatan and Aspas have now secured a top three finish and the INSPIRE Arena.

Talking about their improvements since Madrid, Coach Itopata said:

“I think it's mostly confidence. Everyone trusts the structure and the team a lot more now. Even when we're down, during halftime on Lotus, we just told each other to trust the team.

There's no need to overcompensate; just do your job and trust that everyone else will do theirs.

This mindset is what we take into every game, and whether we win or lose, as long as we keep this structure, we'll always have a chance to win."

Aspas and LEV will take on ZmjjKk and EDG in their next game. With Grand Final on the line, both the stars will bring their best suits.

Sentinels and Team Heretics face Fnatic and DRX respectively for their tournament lives.
