End of a Dynasty: Cloud9 White Valorant to become Free Agents
Cloud9 White has been the single greatest Game Changers team in Valorant. Starting as MAJKL in 2020, The Valorant Cloud9 White core has been one of the longest-running rosters in Valorant. The team together won seven game changers titles in North America. They were the strongest team going into the VCT Game Changers Championship 2022.
The team's Berlin journey started with a bang, but a close loss to G2 Gozen put the team in the lower bracket. In the lower bracket, they faced off against Guild X, EMEA's first seed, made it look like a walk in the park, and reached the Lower Semifinals. In the Lower Semifinals, the team faced their North American rivals in Shopify Rebellion. The team started strong but could not close it losing 1-2, concluding the VCT Game Changers season with a fourth-place finish.
While it was a respectable placement for the team of Cloud9 White's caliber, the result was disappointing. G2 Gozen, the team's EMEA counterpart, lifted the Berlin trophy, and Cloud9 White returned empty-handed to the Americas.
Despite the unexpected finish, the team still was one of the best in the world. They have been a big name in the Game Changers community. Ahead of the 2023 season, the player contracts are up. The players are Free agents as of now. With Jazzy leaving for mandatory military service, reports of the team's disbanding are afoot.
Dot Esports reporter Max Katz reported the players Katsumi and Bob would likely join XSET purple for a complete rebuild. While the captain and IGL of the team, meL and Alexis, the first members of MAJKL, are likely to join florescent, noia, and Sarah in Version X. If the deals go through, we'd see the end of the longest-running rosters and the most prominent dynasty in Game Changers North America.
Organizations or players are yet to confirm the transfers and refute any such claims and rumors. Alexis and meL will be seen participating as Team Vengeance at the Valorant Re//Load event on 16th December. With big changes coming, the 2023 Game Changers Season will be the start of something new.
