The inaugural Esports Nations Cup (ENC) is scheduled to commence in November 2026, backed by a $45 million commitment from the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) in the form of prize money, incentives, and development funds. Featuring individual contenders and teams from all across the world competing in 16 game titles, ENC 2026 will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 2-29, 2026.

Regarding the $45 million commitment, Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, stated:

Our prize model is designed to keep competition fair and sustainable, rewarding performance while supporting the long-term development of players, Clubs, and national programs.

ENC 2026 Fund Distribution
Esports Nations Cup 2026 fund distribution

The $45 million in funding will be distributed across three key areas to bolster the esports ecosystem: competitor prize money, financial incentives for clubs, and national team development. Here is the breakdown:

Prize Money

A $20 million fund is reserved for the players and coaches themselves as prize money. Esports Nations Cup 2026 will feature a placement-based prize framework across all game titles, where equal placement earns equal pay. For instance, a first-place finish will award the same amount of prize money per player across all games, whether you’re a lone contender or part of a team.

Club Incentives

To encourage clubs to release their star players for national competition, $5 million has been set aside in the form of club incentives. These rewards are a direct investment in the clubs, tied to their players' success at the Esports Nations Cup.

For every pro a club sends who finishes in the Top 16 of any tournament, the club will earn a bonus equal to 40% of that player's prize money. For example, if two of a club's players win their respective events, earning $100,000 in total (First place rewards $50,000), the club will receive a $40,000 incentive for its support.

ENC Development Fund

A substantial $20 million ENC Development Fund is dedicated to empowering Official National Team Partners. This isn't just event funding; it's a year-round investment to build a lasting legacy. The fund provides holistic support for logistics, operations, and marketing, ensuring national teams can focus on competition and growth. Specifically, it enables:

  • Team Preparation & Travel: Covering costs for ENC participation, training camps, and bootcamps.

  • Community Initiatives: Funding exhibition matches and events, national team tours, official watch parties, and appearances at major gaming and sports events to connect with fans.

  • Infrastructure & Staffing: Supporting core operational costs, salaried staff, and the development of sustainable national esports infrastructures.

Furthermore, the EWCF has stated that the ENC Development Fund will back initiatives with a clear goal: to measurably strengthen athlete pathways, elevate coaching standards, and enhance partners' capacity to deliver consistent, high-quality national team programs. Full details regarding scope, eligibility, and implementation will be provided to selected National Team Partners during their formal onboarding.
