Ex-Team Liquid IGL Igor "Redgar" Vlasov joins Giants Gaming
After much anticipation, today, 27th October, Giants Gaming Valorant has announced the replacement for Emir “Rhyme” Muminovic. The team has brought in Igor “Redgar” Vlasov, the former Team Liquid IGL.
Redgar and Team Liquid were considered top contenders in EMEA but could not convert the domestic success into International results. The team lost their opening game at VCT LOCK//IN 2023. They were eliminated from VCT Masters Tokyo 2023 by NRG and exited the Valorant Champions 2023 from group stage itself.
The year was disappointing to say the least. The roster imploded shortly after Valorant Champions 2023 concluded. Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel left for Vitality Gaming, the organization later dropped Dom “Soulcas” Sulcas and today, Team Liquid announced the departure of Redgar.
The other side of the transaction, Giants Gaming did not have the best of season, but the team was generally happy with the results. Despite failing to make it to the VCT Masters Tokyo 2023, They dominated the LCQ to qualify for the Valorant Champions 2023. At the Valorant Champions 2023, Giants was part of a tough group alongside Paper Rex and EDward Gaming. Despite the close games, EDG eliminated Giants Gaming from Valorant Champions group stage.
Following the year’s conclusion, Giants’ IGL Rhyme announced his retirement from active competition. With Rhyme leaving the organization, the team had to fill in for the IGL role.
Their search concludes today with Redgar. Redgar brings in a lot of International experience to the roster. The experience will help Giants Gaming to reach greater heights.
With Redgar in the roster, the Giants Gaming squad for VCT 2024 will be:
- Adolfo “Fit1nho” Gallego
- Kirill “Cloud” Nehozhin
- Aaro “hoody” Peltokangas
- Žygimantas “nukkye” Chmieliauskas
- Igor “Redgar” Vlasov
- Daniil “pipsoN” Meshcheryakov (Head Coach)
The squad will debut at the Crossfire Cup #4 starting November 1.
