T1 Faker tests positive for COVID-19
T1 announced earlier today (August 5th) on X (Twitter) that Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok has tested positive for COVID-19.
T1 players were set to participate in an event this Monday to speak on the creativity behind their Worlds' skins as well as discuss their 2023 Worlds run.
Before the start of the event, however, T1 announced that Faker would not be attending, as he had contracted COVID-19 and the team was choosing to put the player's health first and foremost.

T1 and Faker in the LCK
It remains unclear at the time whether Faker will be healthy enough to compete or if the player will be forced to miss some of T1's upcoming games in the LCK.
Following the team's victory at the Esports World Cup earlier this year, T1 has not been able to sustain their run of form in this LCK Summer Season, where the team currently sits in 4th place. T1's last game in the LCK came against the undefeated Gen.G, who beat T1 handily.
T1 is scheduled to compete again in the LCK this Friday (August 9th) against Nongshim RedForce.
Given how important Faker is to the team, chances are T1 will look to rest the four-time World Champion. That way T1 could look to have the team at full force come Summer Playoffs.
