Breaking the Ice: FaZe Clan Welcomes Frozen to CS2 Roster
FaZe Clan has made a significant addition to its CS2 roster with the official signing of Slovakian star David "frozen" Čerňanský. The announcement comes in the wake of Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken's departure to Team Liquid.
The deal between FaZe and MOUZ saw an early exit for frozen from his previous contract. Thus setting the stage for his debut with FaZe at the upcoming BLAST Premier World Final from December 13-17. The 21-year-old talent is poised to fill the void left by Twistzz, bringing his prowess to FaZe's already formidable lineup.
Recreating a Winning Core
Frozen's move to FaZe aligns him with former MOUZ teammates Finn "karrigan" Andersen and Robin "ropz" Kool. Hence, recreating the core of the successful MOUZ roster from 2019-2020. During their time together, the trio secured victories in six tournaments, including a Big Event and the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals.
Karrigan's departure in 2021 and ropz's move a year later paved the way for frozen to join FaZe, aiming to contribute to the team's dominance in the competitive scene. FaZe's recent successes, including wins at three out of the first four tournaments since the switch to Counter-Strike 2, make them the world's No. 1 team.
A Less Painful Transition
While frozen may need to adjust his preferred positions as a Closer, taking over from ropz in early 2022, the trio's three-year stint together and karrigan's experience with both players suggest a smooth transition.
FaZe's current roster comprises of:
- Håvard "rain" Nygaard
- Finn "karrigan" Andersen
- Helvijs "broky" Saukants
- Robin "ropz" Kool
- David "frozen" Čerňanský
Coach Filip "NEO" Kubski rounds out the roster.
Looking Ahead
FaZe's strategic lineup and the addition of frozen position them to maintain their stronghold as the world's top team. As the BLAST Premier World Final approaches, all eyes will be on how this revamped roster performs on the big stage. Can they continue their success and secure another championship? Only time will tell.
