NRG AD Carry FBI to Reportedly Rejoin 100 Thieves in LTA
According to a report by journalist Sander Hove, Ian “FBI” Victor Huang is set to rejoin 100 Thieves roughly 2 years after he left the organization. FBI is most well-known in recent times as part of the NRG core that reached top 8 at Worlds 2023, defeating G2 Esports to do so.
This move, should it succeed, will see FBI replace Frank “Tomo” Lam, the former AD Carry of 100 Thieves. Tomo was released from 100 Thieves earlier this month on the 3rd of November.
A Flash In the Pan?
Following NRG’s monumental victory in the LCS 2023 Championship and subsequent success at Worlds 2023, the team and organization struggled to replicate that success in 2024.
A large part of that has to do with the departure of veteran support Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun to LEC organization, GIANTX, shortly following the end of their 2023 season.
Despite bringing in another veteran Korean support in Choi “huhi” Jae-hyun, the team never seemed to gel in the same way, finishing 5th-6th in the Spring Playoffs and 6th place in the LCS 2024 Championship.
A New LTA Powerhouse in the Making?
For their part, the 100 Thieves roster for 2024 was very much a rookie roster, with low expectations coming into last season. Despite that, they managed to upset an experienced Cloud9 roster, claiming the 3rd seed to Worlds for themselves.
Their Worlds run left much to be desired, however, with the inclusion of FBI now, there are enough pieces on this roster to make it extremely interesting and potentially competitive coming into the new season.
100 Thieves Roster for 2025 Season
- Top: Rayan "Sniper" Shoura
- Jungle: Kim "River" Dong-woo
- Mid: Lim "Quid" Hyeon-seung
- ADC: Ian "FBI" Victor Huang (?)
- Support: Bill "Eyla" Nguyen
- HC: Greyson "Goldenglue" Gregory Gilmer
It is also worth noting that 100 Thieves will be occupying the provisional guest slot for 2025 as they transition away from League of Legends. This means that regardless of their performance this upcoming season, 100 Thieves will NOT be in the LTA North from 2026 onwards.
