Female competitive League of Legends returns to Europe with the Equal Esports Cup 2025
The Equal Esports Cup is returning for the third consecutive year in 2025. With it, competitive League of Legends for women and non-binary people will be in full effect with a few format updates this time around.

The Equal Esports Cup 2025: Everything You Need to Know
After a successful run in 2024 which saw the German side of NNOwO lift the trophy in the end, the tournament returns in 2025 with a brand new format as well as new top-level teams.
Teams and Format
Starting July 1st, twelve teams will compete to reach the tournament's Grand Final, taking place at Gamescon in Cologne, Germany in August. As of now, the first five invited teams have been announced, including some of the biggest names in European League of Legends. These teams include: G2 Hel, SK Gaming Avarosa, Team Vitality French Bees, Solary Académie, and Galions Pearl.
Another three invited teams are yet to be announced, while the remaining four squads that will make up the Equal Esports Cup 2025 will have to make it through the Open Qualifiers first, taking place on May 17th-18th.
To keep in line with the rest of League of Legends esports across the world, the tournament will also feature the use of Fearless Draft.
