NA VCL Week 4 Match Results

G2 Esports vs FaZe Clan [1-2]

G2 suffered another loss in Week 4 with a tough series against FaZe. The series’ first map, Ascent, did not go favorably for G2 as they went down 4-8 against FaZe in the first half. Their Attack attempts fell flat against FaZe’s crucial holds, leading to very few plants. On Defense, FaZe snatched away the pistol to cleanly secure the map with 5 of the 6 rounds, closing out Ascent 13-5.

On Haven, FaZe’s map pick was not off to a great start, with G2 answering back with 8 rounds to begin the map. FaZe eventually managed to take a few rounds back to finish the half 3-9. With momentum on their side, G2 took the pistol and the lead. FaZe managed to answer back with a series of round wins via key retakes, however, the round deficit was too much and G2 managed to take away Haven at 13-9.

Split came in as the decider and FaZe came in pissed. In answer to G2’s win, FaZe took the first half 9-3 in a dominant show thanks in large part to “BABYBAY” and “supamen”. From there, G2 had no answer on Attack, with FaZe closing out Split 13-3.

TSM vs Turtle Troops [1-2]

TSM trip up with another win notched on for Turtle Troops. Fracture was a dominant show for the Turtles, despite being TSM’s map pick. Turtle went on a mad streak of 8 rounds before TSM finally managed to answer back. The first half ended 11-1. Despite taking the pistol round, TSM were unable to maintain the comeback momentum and Turtles closed it out 13-4.

Haven initially was a continuation of Turtle’s domination, taking 6 rounds before TSM managed to answer back. The first half ended 5-7. Turtles would then take the pistol, but TSM went on a streak, taking 8 of the last 9 rounds to close out Haven.

Bind was a close affair for both teams, with the first half ending 6-6 after the back-and-forth exchange. Once the side swap came in, however, Turtle’s took the reins and TSM could find no answers. Turtles only lost one more round on their way to victory, winning 13-7.

Moist Esports vs OREsports [2-0]

Moist shattered ORE as they continue a dominant win streak performance in the NA VCLs. Pearl was an absolute domination, with Moist beginning the map with a strong 9-3 half. They then managed to convert their momentum into a pistol win where they closed out Pearl, only allowing ORE one more round win on their way to a 13-4 win.

Haven was a similar story, with Moist again taking the first half 8-4 after a dominant Defense half that included strong retake protocols. They then managed to convert that into a pistol round win as well in the second half. Even though ORE managed to pull back the game slightly, it was too far gone and Moist closed out Haven 13-9.

Oxygen Esports vs Shopify Rebellion [2-0]

Shopify continues to flounder as they lose another game to Oxygen, who have been looking incredible thus far this split. Bind was a relatively close game between the two, with the back-and-forth resulting in an eventual 7-5 half. From the battering however, Oxygen managed to emerge in the lead for most of the series, eventually closing it out 13-10.

Oxygen’s own map pick of Haven was far worse for Shopify, with the resultant bloodbath leading to first a dominant 10-2 half, before Oxygen eventually closed it out even after losing the pistol. Haven ended 13-4.

The Guard vs MAD Lions [2-0]

The Guard have quickly recovered after their shocking loss last week, taking down MAD Lions in convincing fashion. The first map of Lotus, The Guard’s own map pick, initially went decent for the Lions, going even at the half. Once the side swap came in, however, The Guard went on a win spree that saw them claim 6 straight rounds before MAD Lions managed to answer back. The Guard would take Lotus 13-10.

Bind was a similar story initially as well, with the two teams in close contention in the first half. At the side swap, however, The Guard took over the game, winning nearly 7 straight rounds. Bind was closed out 13-11.

M80 vs Disguised [2-0]

M80 take on the hard-battered Disguised with another win over the clouted org. The latter has had to win a series since coming into Split 2, a stark contrast from their performance last split. Haven was a close map between the two squads initially, with the half ending 6-6 initially. When the side swap came in though, M80 went on a spree, taking 7 of the 8 rounds played.

Lotus came in as Disguised’s map pick, but it was a rough map from the start. M80 began with lead before DSG finally answered back. The first still ended 7-5 for M80. In the second half, DSG took the pistol but they were promptly topped and M80 went on to win the map 13-6.
