The former long-term Fnatic Head Coach, Jacob “mini” Harris has returned as the new assistant coach for the team.

Back on September 11th, to everyone's shock, Fnatic announced the departure of Head Coach mini from the team. The announcement marked the end of a three year long in-game partnership of the brightest coach-IGL duo in Boaster and mini.

It was mini’s decision to step back and the reason as he explained was the burnout during the regular season. In the same tweet, he expressed his desire to either work as an assistant coach or a general manager for a team.

The Time Since

Since his departure, he has been actively working as a part of Coach potatoes alongside former Team Liquid coach Connor “Sliggy” Blomfeld. The duo have been actively working on making guides and playbooks for the casual enjoyers of Valorant.

Fnatic, on the other hand, attended the Red Bull Home Ground #4 in Tokyo. At the event, they dominated their competition which included teams like ZETA Division, Cloud9, DRX and more.

They lifted the trophy after defeating Cloud9 in an intense best of five series, concluding the year on a great note.

While the team still looked like a top contender, mini’s absence was something that concerned a lot of Valorant and Fnatic fans. With their former coach, they looked indomitable and made everyone look bad compared to them.

With the EMEA roster shuffle creating some strong teams, it looked like Fnatic might miss mini a bit more than expected in the upcoming year.

The return of their former head coach to the mix, adds an arsenal to the already stacked Fnatic. It’d also help Elmapuddy concentrate on coaching while mini ‘cooks up’  ideas for the team to execute.

With the Kick-off tournament in sights, Fnatic will be looking to reclaim their throne, and start the year with a bang.
