The #2 team in EMEA, Fnatic Valorant, finally announced their initial roster going into the VCT 2023 season, adding Leo from Guild and Chronicle from M3C/Gambit to the core of Boaster, Alfajer and Derke. With the new roster, the team will be looking to take the VCT 2023 kickoff tournament by strong and will surely be one of the strongest teams in the tournament.

SUMN FC - The humble beginnings:

Boaster, along with Doma, Mistic, dinkzj, Moe40 and Mini as the coach, started Sage Ult my Nan Football club, SUMN FC. Soon, Dinkjz left the roster, and tsack joined the roster.

The roster had multiple significant results winning LAVA series 6, epic. WAN 31 and eventually qualifying for First Strike Europe and the Playoffs.

The team, unfortunately, lost to heretics and placed second in the First Strike Europe. Many considered them as the strongest team in EU, despite the second place finish. And towards the end of 2020, Sumn FC was the top orgless team in EU.

Fnatic Valorant - A retorspect:

Fnatic picked up the Orgless SUMN FC, and the team with Derke and Magnum made an impressive Stage 2 run to qualify for the first international Valorant LAN. At VCT Masters 2 Reykjavik, the team placed second behind Sentinels. The team missed the VCT Stage 3 Masters, and a disappointing run at Valorant champions ended their Valorant 2021 year.

At the start of 2022, Doma was benched by Fnatic, and BraveAF came into the roster. With BraveAf, Fnatic went undefeated at VCT Stage 1 EMEA Challengers Group Stage and qualified for Masters I 2022. BraveAF was suspended for his comments online, and Derke's VISA issues led to Fnatic's group stage exit in VCT Masters 1 Reykjavik 2022.

Alfajer and Enzo joined the roster for the Stage 2 Challengers replacing Magnum and BraveAF. This roster went undefeated at the VCT EMEA Stage 2 Challengers winning the whole event without dropping a series. But the team struggled in VCT Masters Copenhagen, placing 4th. The Valorant Champion results could have been better, too, with the team placing 5th-6th.

Despite the struggles, The team has been one of the most consistent and beloved team in Valorant Esports in 2022 and have been a fan favourite to win tournaments along with DRX.

VCT 2023 Fnatic:

With the fan following, strong rapport and results, Fnatic was selected for the Valorant Partnership program.

Today, Fnatic announced Chronicle, the final piece of the puzzle.

Chronicle and Leo are among the strongest players in the region and have proven themselves on the big stage. With the addition of Leo and Chronicle, the team has emerged as the strongest in EMEA. Along with the rumoured NAVI, the team will be one of the toughest in VCT'23.

The most interesting thing about the line-up is the players are already great at the roles they play, and are one to one replacement to the old Fnatic players. The Line-up will debut in Rio and will be the team to beat.

The finalised Fnatic line-up for VCT 2023 lineup is:

  • Jake "Boaster" Howlett
  • Leo "Leo" Jannesson
  • Nikita "Derke" Sirmtev
  • Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov
  • Emir "Alfajer" Ali Beder
  • Jacob "Mini" Haris (Coach)
