G2 Esports has announced the signing of Polish Counter-Strike legend Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski as their new in-game leader.

This decision marks a significant shift in the team's leadership dynamics, as the reins are handed over from Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen, who was recently benched, to the battle-tested Pole.

Contrary to earlier speculations, it won’t be Nikola "NiKo" Kovač taking on the IGL role, leaving fans eager to see how Snax will steer the team.

Snax's Return to Tier One

Snax joins G2 after transferring from GamerLegion, where he re-entered tier-one competition last September. During his time with GamerLegion, he further developed his leadership skills, a role he had intermittently held with the legendary Virtus.pro roster.

His experience and leadership skills will be invaluable as G2 aims to regain their form and contend for titles. This move also gives Snax another shot at greatness, now with G2's high-caliber roster.

The transfer of Snax to G2 also reunites him with his former Virtus.pro teammate, Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas, who is now the coach of G2. The duo's previous partnership from 2013 to 2018 yielded numerous titles, including the EMS One Katowice Major on home soil in 2014.

A Tight Timeline for Success

The signing of Snax is part of a broader restructuring of the G2 team. Alongside Snax, former M80 star Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa has been brought in to replace Nemanja "nexa" Isaković.

These changes have created some uncertainty regarding roles within the team, as Snax's and malbsMd's playing styles and preferred positions might clash with the existing lineup. Snax, traditionally a rotator on CT sides and not a pure entry fragger on T sides, will need to adapt to his new team's dynamics.

G2 faces a tight timeline to integrate these new changes. With the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, set to take place from July 17-21, the team has just two weeks to solve their role conundrums and build synergy.

The tournament will serve as the first test for this revamped roster, and expectations are high for Snax and his teammates.
