In 2020, with Riot Games expanding beyond the title of League of Legends game developer and introduced new titles to their expanding library: Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, and Wild Rift, and of course, Valorant. With these new entries, a new system was needed, namely, the Riot Account system.
A singular account system that bound all the Riot Games titles into a library. An all-access in one if you will. Nothing transfers between the titles, but it allowed players of one to transition into playing another title seamlessly and easily without the need to create a brand-new account.
How to Change your VALORANT ID?
Changing one’s Valorant name is as simple as can be. Simply start by logging on to your Riot Account from your browser. After signing in, navigate to the Riot ID tab on the left side of the page. The option to edit your name and tag will be present. After you’re satisfied, click ‘save changes’ to finish.
Editing the tag is an available option for all Riot Games and usually serves as a quick reference for players. The default for Valorant accounts’ tag is the region the account was made, i.e., EUW for EU West. However, most players tend to use the tag as an identifier, either for a clan or group they belong to, or otherwise, a unique part of their Valorant name.
