Patch 25.08 Winners

Sett

The changes to Overlord's Bloodmail significantly help Sett in this patch. The bonus HP converted to AD has increased from 2% to 2.5%, and the max %AD based on missing health has gone up from 10% to 12%. These changes make an item that Sett already builds almost every game even more powerful. This means Sett will be even more troublesome to deal with, especially in prolonged fights where his missing health will allow him to deal more damage.

Brand

In this patch, Brand received a significant adjustment to his jungle viability with an increase in his Ablaze damage per tick against monsters, rising from 215% to 240%. This enhancement aims to streamline his jungle clear speed, allowing him to eliminate camps more efficiently. As a result, players can expect Brand to reach critical levels and objectives more quickly, enhancing his overall contribution to the team in the early game. Previously, Brand was often considered underpowered in the jungle role due to his slower clear times, which limited his ability to make impactful plays. This change intends to shift that perception, enabling him to become an active threat sooner and better integrate into team strategies right from the start.

Shen

Shen's another champion who was underperforming in recent patches, so Riot deemed it fit to buff some of his abilities. His Q Slow when moving away from Shen was buffed from 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35% to 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45%. And his W's cooldown was reduced from Cooldown: 18 / 16.5 / 15 / 13.5 / 12 seconds to 16 / 14.5 / 13 / 11.5 / 10 seconds, making him more menacing in the toplane and a more durable threat in teamfights.

Patch 25.08 Losers

Syndra

Syndra received three nerfs to her abilities this patch, Her Q ability, now has a flat slow of 25% at all ranks, reduced from a scaling slow of 25% to 45%. Her E deals 60 to 200 damage with 60% AP scaling, down from a range of 75 to 235 with 45% AP, making her weaker in early game. Lastly, her ultimate, has been adjusted from 100-180 damage (17% AP) to 90-170 (20% AP), decreasing her burst potential. Overall, these changes require players to adjust their strategies and play more carefully when utilizing Syndra's skill set.

Gwen

The change to Gwen's E damage significantly hurt her in the early to midgame phase of the game. The reduction from 12-20 to 8-20 means she now deals less damage in the early levels, which can affect her ability to trade effectively. Players will need to reach level 13 for this nerf to be nullified, delaying her power spike.

Tristana

Tristana's another champion who's receiving noticeable nerfs, namely to her R. The cooldown is increased by 20 seconds at rank one, and the damage is reduced by 50 at all ranks, which may seem daunting. However, don't count her out just yet. She's still a force to be reckoned with in this patch, and with the right strategy, she can still pack a punch.

Adaptability and Change: Pillars of League of Legends

The latest patch has undoubtedly reshaped the League of Legends landscape, presenting both opportunities and challenges for players. Champions like Sett and Brand are set to dominate with their more potent builds and increased agency, potentially altering team compositions and strategies in significant ways. Meanwhile, Syndra, Gwen, and Tristana showcase the impact of careful tuning, reminding players of the importance of adapting to change. As the meta evolves, flexibility and awareness will be crucial for success on the rift. Embracing these adjustments can lead to more strategic gameplay and a deeper understanding of champion dynamics, ensuring that players stay ahead of the curve in this fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
