Worlds 2024 Schedule and Format
Following the success of Worlds 2023, Riot Games has elected to maintain the format changes that began taking root last year, with some alterations. At Worlds 2024, the tournament will still include 3 distinct stages: Play-Ins, the Swiss Stage, and the Knockout Stage.

Play-Ins
The Play-Ins will include 8 teams drawn across 2 double-elimination brackets. The teams will compete in Bo3 format. While the top performing teams from each bracket will advance, other teams have a further opportunity to qualify - via the lower bracket.
The two remaining teams that make it through the lower bracket will also qualify, making for a total of 4 qualification spots from the Play-Ins Stage to the Swiss Stage.
You can find the full schedule, results, and event information for the Play-Ins here.
Swiss Stage
The 4 teams will then join the awaiting 12 teams in the Swiss Stage, for a total of 16 participating in this stage of the competition. All the teams will be split into 4 draw pools:
Pool 1: LCK1, LCS1, LEC1, LPL1
Pool 2: LCK2, LCS2, LEC2, LPL2
Pool 3: LCK3, LCK4, LPL3, LPL4
Pool 4: Play-In Stage Teams
Draw Show Rule Set for Worlds 2024
* Pool 1 teams will face Pool 4 teams and Pool 2 teams will play Pool 3 teams.
**In the first draw, no team will be able to play a team from their own region.
***A second draw will commence for the 2nd round of the Swiss Stage - pairing teams with the same record against one another. The additional draw restriction will not apply (regional lock will not be in effect).
****Teams will not be allowed to rematch previous opponents in this Stage.
3 wins qualifies a team for the next stage of Worlds - the Knockout Stage. 3 losses, and the team is eliminated from Worlds. Qualification and Elimination series will be in Bo3 format. All other matches will be Bo1s.
You can find the full schedule, results, and event information for the Swiss Stage here.
Knockout Stage
In the final stage, the Knockout Stage, the final 8 teams that managed to qualify through will be placed into a single-elimination Bo5 gauntlet. Truly a trial by hellfire for all the teams.
You can find the full schedule, results, and event information for the Playoffs here.
