Leviatán have just announced their latest addition, Max “Demon1” Mazanov to their VALORANT roster. The 2024 Champions MVP was just released from NRG 2 days ago and is now set to replace the void potentially left by Erick “aspas” Santos, who is reportedly on his way out from the Argentinian organization.

Roberto “Mazino” Rivas already departed LEV earlier this month meaning that with the addition of Demon1, the team only just comes to 5. Should aspas depart as well, LEV will be looking to bolster their ranks with another addition.

A Disappointing 2024

Say what you will about Demon1’s 2023, he had one of the most explosive and exciting rookie seasons in VCT history, culminating in a Champions trophy and the MVP title. Hence, heading into 2024, when news broke that not only was he headed to NRG, he was doing so with his partner in crime - Ethan “Ethan” Arnold - expectations were instantly set extremely high.

The duo dominated 2023 as part of the Evil Geniuses lineup. Demon1 was hailed as the best duelist and entry of 2023 and Ethan was the best support initiator, regularly setting up the team for success with some of the best supportive utility in the game.

With all the expectation, it was disconcerting to see NRG not make it to the finals of VCT Americas Kickoff. Their failure there meant that they also did not qualify for Masters Madrid. Come Stage 1, NRG would see a complete collapse, finishing 9th/10th out of 11 teams in the league.

From there, Demon1 did not last long, finding himself benched and one foot pushed out the door already. With the rise of the off-season in 2024, the hope is that having experienced the highs of success in 2023 and the incredible lows of 2024, Demon1 will return to some of his heights that we once saw him capable of reaching.

Leviatán Current Roster 2025

  • Erick “aspas” Santos (heavily rumored to be leaving)
  • Ian “tex” Botsch
  • Corbin “C0M” Daniel Lee
