The Upper Bracket Semi Finals of ESL Pro League S20 set the record for the longest Counter-Strike map when M80 and Fnatic played 71 rounds before the former closed it out.

M80's pick of Anubis started with both teams tying up the regulation 12-12, going overtime. The map then featured seven more overtimes before M80 closed out the eighth overtime, winning the first map of the series 37-34. The map saw seven out of the ten players record almost 50 kills, with M80’s reck and slaxz recording the highest with 58 kills.

To put into perspective, the new Bo12 format’s regulation lasts 24 rounds. So M80 technically played three regulation worth of rounds before they finally “edged out” Fnatic. The round-filled map also last almost 3 hours and featured a pee-break after the sixth OT.

The game annihilates the previous online 60-round Ancient record of Parivision vs. Aurora at ESL Challenger Online League S46 by 11 rounds and the FaZe Clan-NIP LAN record of 54 rounds by 17 whole rounds.

Anubis was just the first map of the bo3 series. The teams are currently locking horns on Inferno. If Fnatic secure the map, we will likely see the longest Counter-Strike 2 series ever. Even without a third map, the series very much is the longest Counter-Strike 2 series till date.
