Nexa returns to G2 Esports to replace jks ahead of BLAST Premier: World Final 2023
Ahead of their second Counter-Strike 2 tournament of the year, G2 Esports have confirmed the return of Nemanja “nexa” Isaković, replacing Justin “jks” Savage. Nexa previously played with the roster until January, 2022.
Since the departure, nexa played for OG. With the squad, OG and nexa enjoyed moderate success. Their best placement came at Blast PREMIER: World Final 2022, when they placed fourth. Despite the squad’s good chemistry, OG did not find enough success.
G2 Esports on the other hand struggled to find consistent form throughout 2022. They bailed out early of PGL Antwerp 2022 and failed to qualify for the next major. But the squad ended the year on a good note, winning BLAST Premier: World Final 2022.
G2 Esports followed it up with an IEM Katowice 2023. They struggled in the next set of tournaments, placing 12th-14th at the last CS:GO major. They did win IEM Cologne 2023 and have been placing in the top four consistently.
Jks throughout has been a great player for G2 Esports. He has consistently been the top performer for the team and has been fulfilling his role well. With nexa coming in to replace jks, it will be interesting to see how the team functions, especially with Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen still staying as the IGL for the squad.
For the upcoming BLAST Premier: World Final 2023 the G2 Esports Counter-Strike 2 squad is:
- Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač
- Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
- Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov
- Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen
- Nemanja “nexa” Isaković
- Jan “Swani” Müller (Head Coach)
