Huhi to NRG Esports: Speculations spark around reunion with FBI
In a surprising turn of events within the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS), support player Choi "huhi" Jae-hyun is reportedly on the brink of joining NRG Esports, according to sources close to Sheep Esports. This move comes following the departure of support Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun to Excel Esports in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC).
Reports also suggest that NRG Esports has been exploring the prospect of parting ways with additional players. This hints at potential alterations to the team's dynamics. These considerations also align with rumors about the organization's efforts to mitigate substantial expenses associated with maintaining its roster. Leading to speculations about potential sales to other esports organizations.
However should FBI remain, this transfer hints at a potential reunion between Huhi and AD Carry Ian Victor "FBI" Huang. A welcome reunion for NA fans as Huhi and HBI had previously collaborated during their time at 100 Thieves. They played integral roles in 100 Thieves' performance during the 2019 LCS Spring Split. This duo found success where the team secured a playoff spot and placed third in the regular season. Their time together however was short lived and left fans longing for more. A re-union at NRG could prove to be a perfect addition to the organization.
Speculation surrounding this potential roster change has also sparked curiosity among fans, particularly considering NRG's standout performance this year. With tremendous success in their first year at LCS and being the only non, LPL and LCK team to qualify for Quarter-Finals this 2023 World Championship series.

Amidst these discussions, Huhi's anticipated move to NRG has a double disheartening side. Given his successful tenure with Golden Guardians and noteworthy international appearances. Golden Guardians have had one of their greatest runs in the history of the organization during the 2023 year, having been Runner-up in the LCS in spring play-offs, and a first ever international appearance at MSI. Prospects of Huhi leaving the Golden Guardians would definitely leave behind a hole in the hearts of GG fans.
As the LCS offseason rolls on, keep your eyes peeled for more updates on the potential switch-ups at NRG Esports and the buzz around Huhi's reported leap to their squad.
