One of NA's strongest squads, NRG Valorant Twitter, announced the departure of the sixth man Zander "Thwifo" Kim. After three short months with the team, NRG let go of Thwifo.

With a mandatory sixth-man rule, NRG Valorant needed to fill in the sixth-man position. Yesterday it was reported that NRG Valorant registered Alan "Ethos" Ruan as the sixth man on the roster.

Ethos is NRG Valorant's content creator and has been with the organization for a long time. Ethos garnered widespread recognition playing Yoru. His Yoru outplays and clips shot him to the top of Valorant content creations. Along with Flexinja, Flights, Average Jonas, and Grim, Ethos was part of the one-trick squad, excelling as a single agent. NRG saw Ethos' potential and brought him in as a content creator in February 2021 for the organization.

Ethos has since displayed his ability to play professionally, playing T2 Valorant. He displayed versatility playing many other agents, including Sova, Cypher, KJ, and Jett. Despite having yet to gain any T1 experience or significant T2 experience, being a sixth man for NRG will garner the expertise and a better understanding of how a top-tier team operates.

NRG Valorant already has some of the biggest names in Professional Valorant. With four International champions and s0m, NRG will be one of the strongest teams in VCT Americas. At VCT LOCK//IN NRG, Valorant lost a close battle to LOUD and narrowly missed the playoffs. Most other NA teams either lost in the first or the second round.

With Ethos in the team, they might get an outsider's perspective on how they play. Additionally, NRG doesn't substitute players or use a rotating roster, so Ethos as a sixth man makes sense.

With Ethos in the roster, the current NRG Valorant will be as follows:
  • Pujas "FNS" Mehta (IGL)
  • Austin "Crashies" Roberts
  • Victor "Victor" Wong
  • Sam "s0m" Oh
  • Ardis "Ardiis" Svareniks
  • Chet "Chet" Singh (Head Coach)
  • Benjamin "trainer" Bravo (Assistant Coach)
