OG Could Dodge Getting Relegated
The series against Entity was crucial for OG if they wanted to keep the hopes of keeping their Division I slot. Fortunately, they dominated the series and prevailed. The team had mixed results since the Spring Tour, but they forced the tiebreakers and made it to The Berlin Major. OG has the same issues in the Summer Tour, but for the Summer Tour, the Major seat is out of the equation and only a seat in Division I is guaranteed. OG played marvellously against Entity, and here’s a recap of the action that happened.
Game 1
OG went into Game 1 with a Medusa draft. They backed their safelane Medusa with an offlane Necrophos and midlane Storm Spirit. Pugna was picked as soft support as it goes well with all three cores. Entity tries to counter the Medusa draft with a safelane Slark. They pressured OG’s safelane Medusa since the start of the laning stage.
Despite the relentless pressure from Entity, OG did not flinch. DM on his offlane Necrophos dominated his lane, and OG played around him. BZM splendidly played his midlane, responding to team fights and cleaning up the kills. As their safelane hard carry Medusa soaks up the farm, OG starts to snowball their advantage. Despite Katomi’s standout Pudge performance, Entity gave in to the pressure from OG. Eventually, at 30 minutes, Entity tapped out from game 1.
Game 2
OG drafted an Arc Warden as their midlane, backed by a Bloodseeker safelane hard carry in game 2. On the other hand, Entity opted for the tempo control midlaner, Ember Spirt, as they picked a safelane carry Phantom Lancer. Despite having a greedier lineup, OG got a terrific start as they drew first blood during the bounty rune skirmish.
Their safelane Bloodseeker applied relentless pressure against the Darkseer offlane from Entity and secured multiple kills during the laning. This momentum allows OG’s support to rotate and enable their cores from other lanes. With a safelane Bloodseeker causing havoc on the map, Entity had to respond, giving the much-needed space to OG’s midlaner.
OG also successfully snowballed their advantage to midgame. Entity couldn’t catch up to OG’s momentum, and OG’s lead grew further as the game progressed. Having no control of the game, at 30 minutes, Entity tapped out from game 2, giving the series to OG.
The Consequences
Because of this crucial victory, OG’s relegation is hanging by a thin thread. To avoid relegation from Division I, they will need to win their next series against D2 Hustlers, which will take place on Monday.
