OG Triumphs: Keeps their hopes for The Berlin Major alive
After their victory in their tiebreakers series against Entity, OG has kept their Berlin Major dreams alive. Even though Entity puts up quite a fight in game 2, it wasn’t enough to force a decisive game.
Game 1
In game 1, OG’s midlaner Bozhidar "bzm" Bogdanov played splendidly on his midlane Invoker. The team also enables bzm's game by finding pickoffs for his Invoker around the map. OG snowballed their laning stage advantage to the midgame, but Entity was able to find a way to come back into the game. As the game progressed, OG’s safelane hard carry Nature’s Prophet stepped up his game. At 43 minutes, Entity tapped out of out game 1.
Game 2
Entity came into game 2 with a fast-paced draft built around a midlane Dragon Knight and an offlane Nature’s Prophet. At first, it seems as though Entity’s game plan was afoot. Applying relentless pressure to OG during the laning stage, Entity was able to find pickoffs around the map, making OG think twice before their every move.
Eventually, OG was successful in halting Entity’s aggression as their midlane Ember Spirit heavily punished Entity’s safelane hard carry Chaos Knight for being out of position once the laning stage ended. This move puts Entity’s advantage in jeopardy. Entity tried to bounce back from this mistake by trying to find pickoffs on the map. However, they weren’t successful, as OG supports were always a step ahead to tank the ganks. Furthermore, OG’s offlane Doom came online much faster than expected, punishing Entity for their aggression.
As the game progressed, the lead that Entity built slowly vanquished. OG played methodically and punished Entity in every step they took. Moreover, OG’s hard carry Morphling was also coming online, while Entity’s hard carry Choas Knight was falling off. OG slowly choked Entity, and after losing the Aegis fight at 34 minutes, Entity tapped out of game 2, giving both the series and the ticket to OG.
Their crucial win against Entity makes OG tied with Ooredoo Thunder. The two teams will have to go to tiebreaker series to see which team will get the final remaining slot for The Berlin Major
