Parker Falls Asleep, Mosquito Clan Loses By Default
A lot can go wrong in a Dota 2 game, but David "Parker" Nicho Flores takes the spotlight this week for one of the most bizarre reasons. While standing in for Mosquito Clan during the FISSURE Special tournament, Parker fell asleep — right in the middle of the Game 1 draft.
The result was costly. Despite the team’s efforts to stall, nothing could be done, and OG was awarded a default win. The series ended in disaster, and Mosquito Clan (formerly Team Waska) is now in a dire situation as the Group Stage nears its end.
Parker and a Story That Repeats Itself
Despite his undeniable skill, Parker has long struggled with teamwork and professionalism. His career is riddled with missed opportunities — often due to his temperament and lack of commitment. A quick glance at his Liquipedia page shows three early red flags.
First, Oscar "Oscar" Jimenez implied Parker was unprofessional. Shortly after, Infinity released him for misconduct. Then came another misstep, where he reportedly cost Ravens a slot in the now-defunct South American DPC.

More recently, Parker spent less than three months with Heroic, winning PGL Wallachia Season 2. The victory proved he still has what it takes to win — but also confirmed that his behavior hadn’t improved. He was soon let go.
Now under contract with Team Secret, Parker was standing in for Mosquito Clan. Unfortunately, things went sideways again — this time against OG.
Mosquito Clan Doesn’t Blame Him
As mentioned above, Parker fell asleep during the Game 1 draft between Mosquito Clan and OG in the FISSURE Special Group Stage. The match began around 5 a.m. local time in Peru, and according to Mosquito Clan, Parker had agreed to stand in on short notice.
Caught off guard and unprepared for an all-nighter, Parker's nap forced the team to forfeit the first game. Mosquito Clan requested RAMZES as a replacement, but the request was denied, since Parker himself was already a substitute.
Regardless of whether blame is fair, the result is clear: Mosquito Clan is now hanging by a thread in the tournament. With a 1-3 record, they were forced to face the undefeated L1ga Team, the current Group Stage leader.
Under pressure and already in a tough spot, Mosquito Clan lost again — bringing them to the brink of elimination.
Xtreme Gaming Holds Their Fate
All eyes are now on Xtreme Gaming, whose performance will determine Mosquito Clan's fate. For MC to have a shot at a tiebreaker, Xtreme Gaming needs to beat OG and lose to Mosquito Clan.
If they manage to sneak into the playoffs, Mosquito Clan could still walk away with at least US$7,000. While the FISSURE Special isn’t a Tier 1 event, its US$35,000 grand prize makes every win count — especially for smaller teams.

Parker may be one of the most controversial figures in the scene, but one thing’s for sure — there’s never a dull moment when he’s around.
