Peyz Sets a New 28 Kill Record at MSI Grand Finals
At this year's Mid-Season Invitational, an astonishing new record was set by Kim "Peyz" Su-Hwan from Gen.G. He achieved the highest number of kills ever recorded in a single match at a top-level international LoL event.
In the second game of a gripping best-of-five series against Bilibili Gaming, Peyz's phenomenal performance led him to amass a total of 28 kills. This consequently shatters the previous record of 18 kills.
How it happened
The milestone took place during game 2 with GEN fighting to use their dominating lead to close out the game. The match lasted for 39 minutes and 14 seconds as BLG fought long and hard to keep game 2 afloat. Fortunately for GEN, Peyz's aggressive and mechanical performance was pivotal in turning the tides in favor of Gen.G
Peyz's record-setting game was marked not only by his high kill count but also by his ability to stay ahead in terms of gold and damage. He led with a staggering 46.4k damage to champions, a testament to his skillful engagements and precision in executing team fights.
Peyz's achievement is not just a personal milestone but also a highlight of MSI's competitive history. It sets a new standard for individual performance in international play and will be a benchmark to reach for by future competitors.
As the LoL competitive scene continues to evolve and grow, Peyz's record serves as a reminder of the heights of excellence players can reach through skill, strategy, and teamwork.
