PHREAK RETIRES FROM CASTING LCS

The man with the puns announced on his YouTube channel he will be retiring from casting for the LCS. Phreak goes on to say he will still be working with Riot Games, and be a game designer for Summoners Rift. Turley goes on to say: "Casting for the last ten years has been an amazing experience, a dream come true, but there's something I've wanted to do for a long time." Phreak explains he always wanted to be a game designer since college, and felt this was the best time to jump on the opportunity.

By the end of the most recent Summer Split, Phreak had successfully passed the interview phase of game design at Riot. "I learned during Worlds that I had passed the interviews, and accepted the job offer," says Phreak. The tenured caster is set to start his job on the balance team for Summoners Rift this upcoming January.

Phreak seems more than capable as a game designer for Summoners Rift, hosting a "Patch Rundown" show on his channel. Importantly, Phreak gets into the minutiae of League of Legends patches, breaking down champion and item changes down to exact details. Most recently, Phreak broke down the Preseason 2023 patch, Patch 12.22.

Phreak was one of the longest standing casters at Riot Games. His unabashing nature and charisma on the casting desk brought lots of light to the LCS. Here's hoping Phreak brings tons of success to the Summoner's Rift design team!
