After spending four years on the team between 2019 and 2023, it appears Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen is set to rejoin  Cloud9 for the 2025 season.

The news, as reported by Sheep Esports' Brieuc "LEC Wooloo" Seeger, comes less than two weeks after Cloud9 officially announced the departure of star AD carry, and Zven's former teammate, Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol.

A fan favorite returns

Having spent four years with Cloud9 in the past, the team should be excited to get back a player that has shown a remarkable willingness to do whatever the team needs from him in order to win.

During his tenure on C9, Zven performed admirably as the team's AD carry on his way to lifting two LCS trophies with the team. By doing so, Zven also became the very first player to have won a title in both the LEC and the LCS.

After the team ran out of gas towards the end of 2021, Zven chose to swap to the support position to accommodate the addition of Berserker to the roster. By doing so, the unlikely duo ended up forming one of the most fearsome bot lanes in the LCS on their way to lifting two domestic trophies with C9.

Having won four LCS titles with Cloud9 across two different roles, few players have shown a willingness to help their team succeed quite like Zven did at Cloud9. As such, fans should be excited about the Danish AD carry returning to what they would say is his home.

The future for Cloud9

Cloud9 had a disappointing end to the year following the team's loss to 100 Thieves during their last chance to qualify for Worlds 2024.

After failing to make their way to the biggest tournament of the year, Cloud9 has been quick to look for answers. Added to the addition of Zven in replacement of Berserker, the team was also reported to have let go of another star in Joseph "Jojopyun" Pyun after the mid laner reportedly showed up late for team activities a staggering 43 times.

It remains unclear how Cloud9 plan to fill out the roster around Zven, but the Danish player's return to the roster should be a good sign of things to come. In the end, can Cloud9 do enough during the upcoming off season in order to get back to previous heights?
