After 10 years of providing us with the best moments, stories, and pure Counter-Strike action, CS:GO is finally ending. Last Night Counter-Strike Twitter announced the Blast.tv Paris Major will be the last Counter-Strike Major on CS:GO. The following major, in March 2024, will be played on Counter-Strike 2. CS:GO will finally die in 2023, but not by the competitors, only because it wanted to.

The news is both happy and sad, as we will bid farewell to one of the best games of the Counter-Strike franchise. CS:GO made a lot of players, literal superstars. It also is one of the best esports to exist to date.

The Blast.tv Paris Major, the last of CS:GO Major, will feature 24 teams from across the world taking on each other for the final crown in the game. In the 10 long years of CS:GO Esports, there have been 18 majors, with 13 distinct teams lifting the major trophy. We have one final trophy to fight for in Paris. Counter-Strike 2 will likely take over the CS esports following the Paris major.

Counter-Strike has taken the world by storm since its announcement two days ago. Players getting access to the Beta version are enjoying the new version of the game. Counter-Strike 2 does have some minor bugs and fixes before the game's launch. But overall, the game has a positive reception.

With CS:GO transitioning to CS2, we will enter a new era of counter-strike esports. We will get a new champion, an inaugural champion. With more to come, we do not know what CS2 has in store for us.
