The League of Legends offseason just got a lot more interesting with the announcement of Los Ratones, a new team founded and head-coached by streamer and former pro player Marc “Caedrel” Lamont.

The team, composed of both high-profile streamers and experienced former professionals, aims to create a fresh yet familiar presence in the competitive scene. With talent like Simon “Thebausffs” Hofverberg, Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek, and the legendary Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, Los Ratones is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about projects of the offseason.

"The idea behind this was, how do we make a team that's competitive but also really fun for you guys, and good content to be able to watch?" -Caedrel

Los Ratones Roster Breakdown

Thebausffs, known as a terror in solo queue, will take up the top lane. While he may lack extensive professional experience, his infamous one-trick Sion playstyle has left an indelible mark on European ranked play, and fans are eager to see if he can bring that same dominance to a more structured team setting.

In the jungle, Los Ratones will field Veljko “Velja” Camdzic, a Serbian player with years of semi-professional experience in Europe. Though he may not have the same level of fame as his teammates, Velja’s long-standing commitment to the game and his gritty approach to competition make him an intriguing addition.

"I did want one rookie on the roster at least, and Velja is a player who maybe a lot of you are not familiar with. He broke the record for one of the highest win rates in Challenger recently, and I think he's a person that no one's really given him a big ERL chance yet."

Returning to competitive League after a hiatus, Nemesis will take center stage in the midlane. During his time with Fnatic from 2019 to 2020, Nemesis established himself as one of the best mid laners in the European seen, often seen as the only real rival to Rasmus “Caps” Winther. Since 2020, Nemesis has been creating content as a streamer for Gen.G, the LCK powerhouse, but fans have eagerly awaited his return to the professional scene. His reunion with former teammate Rekkles only heightens the excitement.

Juš “Crownie” Marušič, the team’s AD Carry, is another familiar face who spent the 2024 season focusing on streaming rather than competing. In 2023, he qualified for Worlds with Team BDS after a stellar season, where he reached the LEC Spring Finals and came close to winning his first LEC title before BDS fell in a reverse sweep to MAD Lions.

Rekkles makes his comeback as a World Champion

Perhaps the most significant addition to Los Ratones is Rekkles, who will be playing in the support role after years as one of Europe’s most iconic AD Carries. His journey over the past year has taken him to the T1 Academy in the LCK CL, where he debuted as a support player.

Although he initially stepped into this role to adapt to new challenges, Rekkles now returns to Europe as a World Champion, having been T1's substitute during their title run at Worlds 2024.

After officially announcing his departure from T1, Rekkles' addition to Los Ratones will see him fulfill his wish of playing closer to home. Now, fans are eager to see if his continued transition to support will bring new dimensions to his play and lead Los Ratones to success.

"It was such an easy process with these guys... Everyone was just really excited to get started and make the team."

Caedrel lays out his plan for Los Ratones

While details about which league Los Ratones will compete in have yet to be confirmed, the lineup has already generated significant buzz across the League of Legends community. The combination of seasoned professionals, popular streamers, and talented newcomers makes Los Ratones one of the most unique teams to watch as the 2025 season approaches.

"We're not sure which league we're gonna play in yet. There's one which we're kind of looking at. Nothing's locked in yet, so we're still figuring out what we're gonna do. But we will be competing next year."

As the founder and head coach of the team, Caedrel naturally has high expectations for Los Ratones. That being said, the former LEC player is aware the process will not be an easy one, and wants to manage expectations accordingly.

"When it comes to long term goals, I'm not too sure. We're gonna take it step by step. Obviously, we wanna reach the pinnacle of Europe and the highest competition, but how we get there yet is kind of undetermined. But, we gotta start off somewhere."

Perhaps one of the most exciting things to come with Los Ratones entering the professional League of Legends scene in 2025 will be the fact that all of the team's scrims will be public. Caedrel's new team promises transparency and, above all, some great content as we head into the new year.

"If you think this roster is crazy, or any of the things that I've said are crazy so far, we've got a few other things that you're gonna see over the next few weeks which you might think are even crazier."
