Sentinels Retain kaplan as Head Coach for 2025 VCT Season
Today, Sentinels announced via their X account that they have "locked in" Adam "kaplan" Kaplan as the head coach for the 2025 VCT season.
Kaplan has been instrumental in shaping Sentinels' competitive resurgence since joining the organization, and his retention signals the team's confidence in his leadership for another year.
Kaplan’s Journey with Sentinels
Kaplan initially joined Sentinels in October 2022 as a strategic coach after the conclusion of the 2022 VCT season. Early in 2023, he transitioned into the head coach role when former head coach Donald "SyykoNT" Muir left the organization. Though Sentinels struggled in the 2023 season, Kaplan played a pivotal role in laying the groundwork for their future success.
One of Kaplan’s most impactful decisions was signing Amine "johnqt" Ouarid from M80 as the team’s in-game leader and bringing back Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro to replace Bryan "pANcada" Luna. These moves helped re-energize the squad heading into 2024.
Kaplan’s influence became evident in the 2024 season, as Sentinels rose from their previous struggles to once again become a dominant force in VCT. They burst into the year with a dominant first-place finish at the VCT Americas Kickoff and followed that with an international victory at VCT Masters Madrid. Despite some challenges later in the year, the team finished strong with a 4th place finish at VALORANT Champions 2024.
Kaplan’s Next Challenge
With the team on an upward trajectory, it is clear why Sentinels have chosen to retain Kaplan’s services. However, 2025 will bring new challenges. The retirement of key players, Gustavo "Sacy" Rossi and star player Tyson "TenZ" Ngo, places the onus on Kaplan to rebuild the roster. Fans and analysts alike are eagerly awaiting to see how Sentinels will respond, and which players will step in to fill the shoes of their departed stars.
Kaplan’s experience and success with Sentinels provide hope that the organization will continue to thrive under his guidance as they head into the 2025 season.
