Skiter and Sneyking Leaves Tundra Esports
With The International 2023 over, the roster shuffle season brought many opportunities for players willing to explore new paths. As players branch out to new opportunities, Jingjun "Sneyking" Wu and Oliver "Skiter" Lepko, left Tundra Esports searching for greener pastures.
Within a short duration with Tundra Esports, they have achieved what most players could only dream of - immortalizing their names on the coveted Aegis of Champions.
Versatile Players and Downfall
Skiter has played Dota 2 professionally in various regions throughout his career, which has made him a versatile player. His most successful stint has been with Tundra Esports in Western Europe, where he played as their Safelaner. He played heroes like Faceless Void and Chaos Knight and was instrumental in helping Tundra win their first TI trophy at The International 2022.
Skiter has a different playstyle compared with most players. He often likes to play safe laner with early power spikes, allowing his team to close off games early. The player also excels in playing farm-oriented heroes.
Sneyking is a veteran in the North American Dota 2 scene. Although he usually plays within his region, he decided to try his luck in Western Europe.
His bold move became his most successful decision as he became the oldest player at 27 to have his name inscribed on the coveted Aegis of Champions. With years of professional experience, Sneyking deeply understands the game and can provide a strategic perspective to his team.
At The International 2022, Tundra lifted the aegis, but in the following 2023 DPC Season, they had a difficult time and barely managed to scrape by at LANs. The team had only a little success despite trying various approaches. Thus, they shook things up with a roster shuffle before The International 2023 to defend their Aegis. Unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful as Tundra had an early exit at The International 2023.
What Now?
Earlier this week, the team announced the departure of Leon “Nine” Kirilin. With Sneyking and Skiter leaving as well, only Neta "33" Shapira from their original TI-winning roster remains. The rumors about the team's plan to revamp their roster are becoming a reality.
The roster shuffle season for Western Europe has been slow, but now it is picking up the pace, with Team Secret leading the charge. The coming days are expected to have more roster shuffle news from the region.
