Falcons: "I think we're definitely feeling stronger than before"
Team Falcons has emerged as one of the top teams to watch since the post-TI 12 roster shuffle. After adding the new MENA region, the Falcons, led by their captain Jingjun "Sneyking" Wu, have dominated the region so far.
Interview with Falcon's Sneyking
Yesterday, during an interview at BetBoom Dacha Dubai, he spoke about the qualifiers, the new addition to the team, and how it all came together.
"It's quite exciting. It's been about a month and a half since our last match in Malaysia, and I'm looking forward to having my full Squad plus coach this time".
Aui_2000 Returns
Kurtis "Aui_2000" Ling and Sneyking have built a great partnership, and their combined experience was a reason for their TI11 win with Tundra Esports. And now, with Aui returning to coach the Falcons, it will boost their performance.
"Yeah, he was there for all three qualifiers. He was a recent addition because he wanted to take a break after TI, and we respected that. We connected after Malaysia and decided to continue working together. Ever since then, we started to boot camp in Jordan, and he was there with the rest of the team."
When asked if they could win BetBoom Dacha, Sneyking replied: "I can never say anything for certain, but we'll definitely try our best. I think we're definitely feeling a little bit stronger and more confident than in our previous run at Malaysia."
And their confidence paid off when playing LGD Gaming. Though LGD took Game 1, the Falcons put on a dominating show in Game 2. Relentlessly pouncing on any LGD hero that left their base, eventually drawing the series 1-1.
Interview with Falcon's ATF
During the post-game interview with Falcon's offlaner, Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf, he explained their loss in Game 1.
"I think, in Game 1 we had a bit of a draft issue mainly because we had a bit of a problem, so we had to fix the sound and lost a lot of draft time. That's the reason, of course, no excuse we lost in the end."
ATF's Mars MEME Build
Ammar's offlane Mars was one of the main reasons LGD was forced to drop Game 2. He is known for his unorthodox or otherwise wacky builds on his heroes, and we once again got to see it live. He built Mars into a One Hit Kill machine and dealt a 2256 Critical hit on the enemy carry, instantly killing him.
Ammar spoke about his Mars pick with a smirk, "I will say this again the moment my heroes are not banned, they will no matter what, be taken." He also thinks Timbersaw isn't a good hero to play right now, but he does it for the team.
When asked who might be the toughest opponent in his group, he pointed out Gaimin Gladiators because of their win against Team Liquid.
Upcoming Matches
Team Falcons will face Gaimin Gladiators on the 6th at 1:00 pm CET. But today, they will have to focus on their win against Team Liquid, which starts today at 4:00 pm CET. Do you think the series will be a draw, or who will come out on top?
