Spring tour of the DPC begins: Major updates and more
The Winter Tour ended with Gaimin Gladiators beating 17 of the best teams in the world to win the Lima Major. Walking away with 400 DPC points, they currently stand 2nd in the DPC rankings. But it does not end here. The Spring Tour has begun, meaning a fresh start for other teams to show their strength. This Tour will be different with the addition of qualified Div II teams in Div I.
Spring Tour Qualifiers
The 2nd Tour already started on March 13th. The Division I qualifiers for the Berlin Major will conclude on March 3rd. At the same time, the Open Qualifiers for Div II teams are also starting. Followed by which the next set of Div II qualifiers for the Div I relegated spots will commence. Those qualifying teams will be part of Division I in the 3rd Tour.
Berlin Major
The Berlin Major is hosted by ESL One. The main stage events of the Major will take place in Velodrom Arena on the 5th - 7th of May. The premium tickets & 1-day tickets have already sold out. But the organizer will make another set of tickets available soon. With a prize pool of $500,000, there is no doubt the event will be a blast.
The top 18 teams will compete for prize money and DPC points. These 18 teams will be split into two groups, participating in a Bo2 round-robin. The top 6 teams from each group will move to the main stage for the playoffs, while the remaining teams get eliminated.
Supporting your favorite team
There might be a new set of favorites for winning this Spring Tour due to a new patch and different teams. We should make the new teams feel welcome as well. Tuning into their matches and watching them compete along with some positivity will go a long way. Dota has also added more content to the in-game Supporters Club. This will also help the team know how much they are growing in the community. Hopefully this Major we will see a new region take the reigns.
