Today, T1 announced via their X account that they have parted ways with Ha "Sayaplayer" Jung-woo and Daniel "Rossy" Abedrabbo. Both players had been benched after T1's 2024 season concluded.

T1 have also secured the services of Seol "indigo" Do-hoon and Lee "CheongGak" Il-ho as the new coaches for the team.

These roster moves signal the organization's intent to shake things up following a challenging year.

Sayaplayer and Rossy: From Early Promise to Disappointing International Results

Sayaplayer has been with T1 since the early days of VALORANT in 2020. However, the team failed to secure notable results in the beginning. Thus leading to his departure to The Guard in late 2021. During his time with The Guard, Sayaplayer achieved a 1st place finish at VCT 2022: North America Stage 1 Challengers, though international success eluded him.

In 2023, Sayaplayer returned to T1 as part of their all-Korean roster for the VCT Pacific League. While T1 saw moderate regional success, finishing 3rd in VCT Pacific 2023. But their international results, including 9th place finishes at both VCT Masters Tokyo and VALORANT Champions, fell short of expectations.

Rossy began his career in 2020 and played for various tier 2 teams before joining TSM in 2022. Unfortunately, his results in North America were underwhelming. In 2023, he joined FaZe Clan, then Turtle Troop, before being picked up by T1 for the 2024 season. Despite a 3rd place finish in VCT Pacific Stage 1, Rossy’s tenure with T1 culminated in disappointing results internationally, including a last-place finish at VCT Masters Shanghai.

What’s Next for T1?

With the departure of Sayaplayer and Rossy, T1 has brought back Lee "Carpe" Jae-hyeok, who had been previously benched to make way for Kim "stax" Gu-taek. Additionally, stax is expected to take over as the in-game leader, replacing Kevin "xccurate" Susanto.

Rumors also hint at the possible arrival of DRX star duelist Yu "BuZz" Byung-chul, which could further bolster T1's roster.

T1’s 2024 season ended in disappointment, prompting significant roster changes. With the departure of Sayaplayer and Rossy, T1 appears focused on building a stronger team under the leadership of Stax, indigo and CheongGak.

As the organization looks to regain its footing in the competitive VALORANT scene, fans will be watching closely to see how the new roster shapes up.
