LCK second seed T1 advance to face LPL first seed JD Gaming after a 3-0 victory against LPL fourth seed Royal Never Give Up in the second Quarterfinal series of the 2022 League of Legends World Championship on Oct. 21 at the Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Game 1: T1 win

T1 beat Royal Never Give Up 15-10 in 38:09 in Game 1. T1 jungler Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun's 4/3/10 Graves was a valuable first pick, gaining advantages on RNG jungler Yan "Wei" Yang-Wei from the game's opening minutes with an invade and a top lane gank. Wei's 6/3/3 Viego challenged Oner at points, but he was unable to snowball a major lead. T1's botlaner Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong and support Ryu "Keria" Min-seok thrived on an unconventional botlane, Ashe and Heimerdinger.

Game 2: T1 win

Despite leading by 3k-7k gold for over half the game, Royal Never Give Up lost the 42:00 Game 2 while leading 14-13 in kills. T1 toplaner Choi "Zeus" Woo-je's signature Jayce pick was focused heavily by RNG and finished with zero kills and eight deaths, but Gumayusi's 7/0/4 Xayah led T1 to an Elder Dragon teamfight victory and eventually the game. RNG toplaner Chen "Breathe" Chen played well with a 7/2/3 KDA on Fiora, but RNG's late game throw wasted his performance.

Game 3: T1 win

T1 completed the second Worlds Quarterfinals sweep in as many days by beating Royal Never Give Up in a 27-10 game that lasted 26:33, the shortest game of Quarters so far. RNG's Breathe and Wei combined for 14 deaths, while T1's Zeus and Gumayusi combined for 16 kills. Gumayusi's two deaths were his only deaths at Worlds 2022 outside of T1's loss to Fnatic in Week 1 of Groups, giving the superstar ADC just six deaths in nine games, seven of them deathless. RNG were unable to take any objectives besides one tower and one dragon, with support Shi "Ming" Sen-Ming's Soraka pick failing to exert pressure over the map. The loss is a disappointing end to 2022 for the reigning Mid-Season Invitational champions, but JD Gaming now has a chance to avenge their countrymen in Semifinals.

In the next series, LCK first seed Gen.G will play against LCK third seed DWG KIA in a intraregional matchup to decide the first team to move on to the opposing side of the bracket.
