T1 Worlds 2023 Skins Revealed
Following their victory at the Esports World Cup, the T1 hype train continues as Riot Games has finally allowed a first look into the 2023 T1 Worlds skins.
After some doubts and indecision, here is the final champion line-up on which the players settled for their T1 Worlds skins:
- T1 Zeus: Jayce
- T1 Oner: Lee Sin
- T1 Faker: Orianna
- T1 Gumayusi: Jinx
- T1 Keria: Bard
Let's take a look at the skins Riot has been working on, including the Prestige edition of T1 Jayce.
A decade-old throwback
Riot took the time to add several cute little details into some of the T1 Worlds skins.
One important detail that has not gone unnoticed by fans is present in Oner's T1 Lee Sin skin. During the skin's recall animation, Riot references Bae "Bengi" Seong-woong and his SKT T1 Lee Sin skin, earned by Bengi after his victory at the 2013 World Championship alongside Faker.
Moreover, Oner's skin also includes his signature jacket drape, which comes into effect during the recall animation for his Lee Sin skin.
Meanwhile, Faker's own Orianna skin recall includes both the 5 peaks referenced in the T1 vs JDG teaser as well as the Imoogi referenced in the T1 vs WBG Grand Finals teaser. It all very much lends a legendary feel to the skin, one befitting the GOAT of League of Legends.
Gumayusi's Jinx skin includes an extremely cute recall with his dog Doongie while Keria's Bard can be found dancing with a phantom Lux in the skin's recall.
Heroes of Korea
The clearest inspiration for the skinline appears to come from Korean culture - a nod towards T1's legendary performance at the 2023 Worlds. As the only Korean roster to make it past the Quarterfinals (taking down LNG to do so), they faced JDG in the semifinals and then WBG in the Grand Finals to defend South Korea's honor on homesoil.
The T1 Worlds 2023 skin bundle will be available starting from the 30th of July on the PBE and on the live servers from the 14th of August. T1 players will participate in an event on the 5th of August, to speak on the creativity behind their Worlds' skins as well as discuss their 2023 Worlds run.
